So, some of you are coming to Greece for the two friendlies. Those interested in meeting with Karteo and myself, please state your availability and what you want to drink, so that we can make arrangements.

- How many?
- Just a beer or mezes with tsipouro / wine? (Sorry, Chris, a decent cup of coffee is not an option).
- On the day of the friendly, before or after the match (after will be very difficult for me on a weekday), or on another day?
- Near Piraeus, or the place makes no difference?
- Will there be children involved, or can we make a fool of ourselves without inhibitions?

I wish I was going now. But helping daughter number 2 move home after her divorce is taking precedence.

- On the day of the friendly, before or after the match (after will be very difficult for me on a weekday), or on another day? Probably day of friendly is best, but open to other days too (only other days I’m there are Sunday & Monday which probably aren’t great for you)
- Near Piraeus, or the place makes no difference? Don’t mind really happy to go with your advice
- Will there be children involved, or can we make a fool of ourselves without inhibitions? No kids, clear to be fools

Certainly wish I was going - would be great to meet up with Hellenic counterparts

Just looked up tsipouro. Sounds as if the visitors are having to face an introduction like we did in Belgium, with the initiation to trappistenbier. I remember sitting on the steps of the bar in the middle of Sunday afternoon feeling very ill with the locals wandering past in their Sunday best!

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it.

I'm too lazy to get to the City Ground more than twice a season, so Greece is way too much effort.

I haven't been to the City Ground since McClaren's first game in charge but I'm out here!

To be fair Athens is far more convenient for me to get to than Nottingham, bizarrely.

Not sure I'll be joining the party tomorrow but will definitely be at the game. Might try and join anything happening on Tuesday though. Definitely keen to meet our Greek forum regulars!

I’d love to be there for this but sadly stuck in uk. That looks like it could be a good do. Looks a good bar James Joyce. Do you know it?

Oh yes. I've been there many times. There are too many good bars in the area as well as in Pireaus where I live.

Really hope pre season trips to Greece and a match vs Oly becomes a regular thing. Would love to go next year. Certainly makes sense for us to use their brilliant facilities and get a game in vs quality opposition. I assume a lot of our off field staff members are involved in both clubs so makes sense for us to be there for a week each season.

Guys it doesn't look that there are a lot to arrange something so instead of that we will try to join you on this

We can come to James Joyce bar and also at the Rockin' Bulldog outside our stadium

How does this sound?

So, since tsipouro with a large bunch didn't work, a beer sounds more practical. There are a million choices, the James Joyce bar Karteo suggested is fine and there will probably be more Forest fans, so Karteo and I can be there at 5, for those of you who would like to meet us. If Steve B and Caveman who responded have different plans so early but would still like to meet us later, just before the match, please let us know relatively early and we can at his second choice, just outside the stadium.

Can't believe you fell for this one.

Nice of GBG & Karteo to offer to play 'mein hosts', hope all out there enjoy the day.

Great of you to host other forum members, GBG and Karteo. It's been a few years since I've been in Athens but would have loved to have made it - I spent a summer working on an archaeological project in the Cyclades a few years back, it was a fantastic experience.
