they are recycling the rumor from last season.
Didn't it also turn out that it was only a suggestion from an Argentinian fan account that got lost in translation anyway? Im sure that the same one also suggested Gallardo for manager and again that got a bit of oxygen too.

Burnley are in advanced talks with Manchester Cityover a deal for goalkeeper James Trafford, who is currently on England U21 duty.

It is understood the deal could be worth up to £19m, with an initial payment of £15m plus £4m in add-ons.

The deal also includes a 20 per cent profit sell-on clause, a buy-back clause and a matching offer clause.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at League One side Bolton.

Trafford has featured in goal for England for all four of their Euro U21 matches and has yet to concede a goal at the tournament ahead of Wednesday's semi-final against Israel.

Mental money, I'd balk at us paying £19m for Henderson and he's a full England international.

Trafford's been very good in the Euro's & has had a couple of good loans in the EFL. He looks as though he has all the tools to be a very good Keeper for a very long time, but that's a lot of money.

Burnley spending more-per-player on 19 year olds than Forest were on established players in the Bundesliga.

Wonder if Talksport or Richard Keys has anything to say on the matter?

Seems a bit odd considering Trafford has only played for Bolton and no higher than L1. They're taking a massive gamble that he will be competent in the PL and he's basically a baby as far as keepers are concerned.

Luton seem to be pinning their hopes on league 1s best players? Surprised they haven’t raided derby yet…
Could you imagine that little spotty albino twunt in the PL?

If Forest are looking for a young goalkeeper with potential they should keep Kristoffer Klaesson at Leeds on their radar. Not an established starter yet but definitely one for the future that I would rate higher than our current backups.

Fabrizio Romano reporting the James Trafford Burnley deal is almost done 14m and 5m add ons and 20 percent sell in clause.

In a way I admire the boldness of that move but for me it’s a bit too much of a gamble. Concede lots of goals early keeper makes a few mistake his confidence could easily end up being shot by the end of October.

We all saw what happened at Saints last year when you sign talented young players and fill your team with them and expect them to perform every week. It’s a big gamble.

They already have him!
Good point

Presumably Trafford will be back up to Muric then, because I can't see a keeper who has played for Bolton in League 1 coming in and starting every week for Burnley in the PL, as opposed to one who City loaned out a few times including to a Championship side who ended up almost reaching the play offs whilst he was there, then selling him to a club who won promotion to the PL. Muric is also what, 25 or so now and has a fair bit of experience.

This looks to me like they are paying a high price for Trafford's potential plus that he's come from City and seems to be good with the ball at his feet. They probably also see more resale value in Muric in a few years time or if they go down that someone like Sheff Utd or one of the clubs coming up or maybe even another relegated club with parachute money might take a gamble on a CH winning player.

It does seem a bit odd though - Trafford needs to be playing at his age (if he's done well with a loan to L1 he would probably next be loaned to a CH club) so if Burnley are going to sign him and loan him out then why bother doing that and potentially have to deal with a loan which loses value when City could loan him somewhere like Sheff Weds or Blackburn if they wanted to keep him reasonably local to Manchester but with a CH club.

They already have four keepers on the books, as well as Muric they have
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bailey_Peacock-Farrell - ex-Leeds, and NI's international keeper
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denis_Franchi - Italian keeper, '02 so similar age to Trafford, they signed him from PSG in '22 where he came through the academy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Vigouroux - Signed this summer from Leyton Orient after being at Swindon for a few years. Loaned out a bit before that by Spurs and Liverpool

Kompany must collect keepers like Colin did with strikers at Sheff Utd a while back
