I think this is a wait and see signing. WE needed another option up front badly. Taylor is awful. Lewis I rate more. I'm not sure what anyone ever saw in Taylor.

2 years. Huge vote of confidence in a young player, that is….

If he was on a five year deal, people would be saying it was crazy given his injury record.

Do we have to find every last little possible thing to moan about?

What has our scouting team been doing for the last 12 months? We’re so screwed.

Re: Xande Silva

Nottingham Forest are delighted to confirm the signing of Xande Silva on a permanent deal from Premier League side West Ham.

The forward joined The Hammers in 2018 for a deal reported to be in excess of £3m+ from Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal’s top flight.

Silva represented Portugal at every level from Under 15 to Under 20s and spent last season on loan at Aris Thessaloniki in Greece’s Super League.

Xande joins The Reds on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee and becomes The Reds' eighth signing of the summer transfer window.

I just wish it was Tiago Silva.

We miss him, as much as people had a go at him.

He linked the midfield and attack so well. Had technique, could see a pass. Damn. We always f*** things up.

Well looking at the video he does at least look useful at running onto balls hit from behind half way, so if we could we just play a midfielder willing to hit a long ball in behind he could play a part.
However given Hughton's preference for repetitive lateral passing the lad may well spend most of his time closing down the keeper and waving his arms in the air.
Anyone offering odds on whether we ever get to see the back flip?

Based on what GBG says and the obligatory YouTube clips, it looks like he plays as more of a winger than a striker.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
so we swap a non scoring striker - da costa to a new non scoring striker , yay.

No. We swooped a striker that we played on the wing for a winger that can’t score.
Subtle difference

As a retired accountant I think this is an excellent cost saving signing.
The Club can make use of all those Da Costa shirts after all.

I’m not moaning about it. Just pointing out that he’s obviously a short-term cheap filler signing because we couldn’t get who we wanted on long-term deals (e.g. Ojeda signed for 4 years).
