Let's face it, if you were a Notts lad why would you sign for them? (Even if you supported City or Arsenal or something).

KDH was actually born in Nottm but brought up in shitshed which is in Leics ...

Because they've got excellent training facilities and at the time the deal was done Leicester hadn't been relegated (and indeed, Forest weren't safe).

It's been a long time since Forest were a better draw than Leicester to aspiring players.

Just heard Moe off the 3 Stooges has signed for the Academy. The haircut swung it.

Interesting take on the Academy in the telegraph article from JP. Perhaps things were just going a bit stale with Gaz Braz and the club felt it the right time to move on?

I'd expect that honestly? Recently our "products" havent been all that and since we're premier league now, need that conveyer belt in full force.

It is rewritten in the present tense, imho.

I'm sure one if the state grammer school alumni will be along to elucidate shortly.

Is there any one we should be looking out for coming through the academy. Feel like there hasn’t been much hype about any of our academy players since Johnson, mighten and appiah apart from maybe Zach Abbott.

I was actually going to start a thread and ask what is going on with our academy. The importance of a strong youth setup is an absolutely essential part of a a club of our current stature. IT seems Ross Wilson agrees, which is a good thing. Let's hope the people in place running it are focused on developing technical ability and mentality, and that our scouts are smart enough to identify players with a big upside.

The kid above is a CAM who we've been tracking for around a year. He'll sign a pro contract when able to (18 is it?).

Finn Back was one I had high hopes for - good to see he's back playing with Carlisle after his injury last year and still only 20.

Hope he gets some better luck there this season and kicks on - pretty sure he'll have the mentality drilled in with his dad's background so it'll be a case of how far his ability can take him, which I'd hope would be at least Championship level.
