A view from the Wednesday

This line made me smile

people say they harp on about their history, damn right they should, they have achieved things clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal dream about.

Very good write up, like Brolin always had a little soft spot for Wednesday, just hope we get 3 points on saturday though. :D

enjoyed reading this, i wonder if the other team in Sheffield (who i can't stand) would be so nice. Enjoyed my trip to Hillsborough at the start of the season and always think that Wednesday are a club that should be in the PL at the expense of poor examples for clubs like Wigan and Blackburn.

Very respectful and accurate piece. Clearly the writer is a proper football enthusiast.

I hope we stuff Wednesday, naturally, but not in the bitter, spiteful way I like to see us beat United.

He's a good lad, is Walkley. Expect to find him in a pub in Nottingham from early on Saturday.
And it's nice to hear some kind words from your fans too. Here's to better times for both of us, although i can't go as far as wishing you well for Saturday. If you can't go up automatically i'd love it if you could beat the Blades in the Play Offs, hopefully in the most heartbreaking manner possible. Here's a little trip down memory lane from another Wednesday fan:

Good write up. I'm glad that things have turned round under Irvine, I can't believe that Preston got rid of him (although hopefully the good form will stutter on Saturday).

One small bit of nit picking:

The wooden main stand is the one that burnt down, the current one is not made of wood although it does look dated.

Nice write up! I do like a bit of friendlyness between fans, best wishes! One thing that may help you is that Irvine has been here once this season and seen his team demolished, of course every team does it's research, dossiers and whatnot but first hand experience of the football we play at home will help your cause greatly. Maybe it's the citalopram talking but I'm not fussed what happens at the weekend for some reason as I've got time for the wendies fans and the club.

Be nice to play a proper football club for once.

Should make for a good atmosphere

I can think of quite a few players that have played for both clubs including the 2 you had out of the pitch before the match earlier in the season. Remember Dessie being one but can't remember who the other one was..

Growing up in North Nottinghamshire, I was surrounded by loads of fans of the various South Yorkshire clubs.

Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield United and Barnsley fans were amongst the worst fans I've ever met. Wednesday fans, however, were always great. A fair few of my best friends are Owls fans and I've always quite liked the club.

I'd much rather they were scaling the heights again with Forest than any of the other local clubs.

Wasn't the other one Jemson?

Great read that, I learned a few things about my own team.

Generally I don't like Yorkshire teams (scab chants ) etc, but I can't remember any real bad vibes from Wednesday. I would prefer you swapped places with the blunts. Never forgave them for our sound thrashing when God was incharge for his last home game, sat in A Block, :) nearly cried. Jessy.

Good luck for the rest of the season, but not on Sat when I hope we give you a sound thrashing.

Doncaster 'fans' are the worst I've ever met.
