Bloody hell I must’ve been young - never contemplated defeat.
Just enjoyed the occasion & the inevitable victory.

I enjoyed the occasion too-although I wasn't really expecting to win.I think Cloughie wasn't that hopeful
either without Trevor Francis, but Peter Taylor was more bullish!

I was sat in a chalet at Chapel St Leonards watching on a small telly with all the family. Dad and grandad must have sacrificed having a couple of pints in the Smugglers and seeing a high quality act at the Maid Marion so it must have been important.

no caused by hamburg fans burning flags on the railings and spanish police firing the gas at them but not realising which way the wind was blowing.

My recollection was Forest fans climbing onto the railings trying to get onto the pitch which didn't go down well
with Spanish plod. There may well have been trouble at the Hamburg end as well, but I think it was a case of
'tear gas first, ask questions later'as the police weren't going to mess around.
I must say I think they were a bit heavy handed though.
