24th April - Billy Davies Day

Alvar Hanso

Jack Burkitt
I hereby declare Saturday 24th April to be Billy Davies Day - in recognition of his fantastic achievement of getting us into the play offs.

To celebrate Billy Davies Day all supporters will be encouraged to wear grey jumpers in honour of the wee tactical genius.

Someone is bound to tell me I'm wrong but I don't think Billy's been wearing his faithful grey jumper for quite a few games now. I've certainly seen him not wearing it for the last number of home games! :frantic:

In fact, it may have coincided with our drop in away form.

I don't think I have anything grey but I can wash a pair of white knickers with a black sock if that helps.

As long as we don't have to wear that flower thing that he has on his jacket!

For you and those that don't know the "flower thing he has on his jacket" is a daffodil that you get when you donate money to the Marie Curie cancer care daffodil appeal to raise money to help the charity provide nurses for terminally ill people in their own homes, care is also provided in nine Marie Curie Hospices in the UK. A very worthy cause and one I gladly support and have donated to.

Well, if the gossip I heard today is true it may well be he last game at the City Ground.

Heard from a workmate - no veracity at all - that he's supposedly off to take over at Rangers after the S****horpe game. Ned will deal with the play-offs and the board will appoint a new manager depending on the outcome.

Can't see it myself, surely the prospect of Forest in the Prem is better than Rangers in the SPL, even if they are in Champions League, surely? Please?

Pfft. Gossip is gossip.

That said, if the job was available it would (a) pay more, (b) put him closer to his family and (c) appeal to him given he won't have our prejudices against Scottish football.

Hopefully it's bollocks, tho.

Worst case scenario I think would be him leaving after the play-offs to take the Rangers job, why on Earth would they insist he take over at the beginning of May?

I think he would take it if it becomes vacant and is offered to him though. He is a Rangers man through and through, his family still live in Glasgow as well.

would be a perfect tactic to twist the boards hands and give him more control, and a new contract. If there is any ounce of truth in the rumour.

Aren't they in quite big debt(meaning they wouldn't be able to pay out compo) and hasn't Walter Smith being grooming Ally McCoist for the top job for the last couple of years?
