In fairness Alf, he has some terrific players on his client-list, a couple of which I fully expect to be heading this way should we survive.

You should know that your Angry-Daft-Lad-in-Bulwell-'Spoons routine is wasted on me.

By the way Ray, whilst you're here, are you renewing your season-card?

I look in the mirror every day and, alarmingly, invariably see my late old man staring back at me seemingly more-and-more as each day goes by (funnily enough, my three brothers say the same), so I don't know if that's an indication of me "selling my soul"?

Your kinder words are much appreciated.

I do accept the sentiment behind that decision Ray, but if we are back in the Championship next season I do have to ask you what would you want the club's primary aim to be?

I love Taiwo but whatever league we’re in we need to looking at bringing in a new first choice striker.

He's quality for the 15 games he plays but he’s just never fit. I think I’d sell him if someone offered us 20M to be honest.

I know that feeling well and I'm glad it's only the look that I resemble.

Those few games when he returned from injury just wasn't him. It seems like his injury spell is longer that it actually was because he was a shadow of himself. Hoping that a proper recovery sees him renewed for next season.

Great to see him back and on road to getting fitness back. Let’s take the positives rather than slate him as that is incredibly unfair after having so long out. Club has to decide if he is our first choice 9 next season. We need another striker anyway but interesting to see what profile this is and whether it’s first choice or squad player.

Part of Taiwo’s problems have probably been down to the demands placed on him being the best striker we have, the nature of the injury, and his physical and explosive running style of play.
I don’t think he is a malingerer.
When he returns after the summer I am expecting him to be fully over the injury ( all absences seem to related to a deep-seated groin issue) and we will benefit from that.

The lads only started 12 games or so this season - no way we can rely on that next year. When he 'came back' briefly at the start of the year he clearly wasn't fit either.

A fully fit Taiwo is a great player to have but we need to find another player somewhere to challenge for the 9 spot, while keeping within FFP. Tough summer ahead!
What's interesting (to me at least) is whether the club's hierarchy see it as a longer game now than they did a year or two ago...

Striker wise you imagine Akpom is our pick at around what Ajax paid for him. Wouldn't be bad business (say 3m a year over 4?) but it won't whet anyone's appetite, and he'd basically come in as a Wood backup. I think that improves the squad, but it's less 'ambitious' than we've become accustomed to.

Imagine that type of deal (low fee over longer term) will be the money ones with some frees thrown in. Maybe there will be a name or two in the frees.

If Forest think Chuba Akpom is the man to score the goals to keep them in the Premier League, well, lump on them going down.

Back on thread topic, I'd really like it if Taiwo wasn't in the match day squad next weekend. Just let him have his holidays early and get him back into Forest a week prior to pre season to do some light physio work to help his body prepare for next season.

One of three men, and your lumping on might be more secure with a Chuba Akpom to Forest punt. Similar odds to I'd imagine!
