Cheers. It's been about 12 years since I've been to Turf Moor. I wonder if it gives any further animosity to our away section given what happened?
It’s wild country up there,Notcher-I remember going in 2003 and witnessed some local meatheads abusing
some Asian schoolchildren returning from school.

You were there the season after then. Yes you're right, proper backward place. I remember feeling really uncomfortable when we were drinking at a few pubs around the ground afterwards and I was only with my girlfriend at the time, really hostile and it was literally like something from the TV show life on Mars

I'd be qute happy if they called the season end now.
We have 8 better GD & 1 more point, so they need 3 to finish above us.
Ignoring their results, if we get 3 draws they'd need 6pts.
We're capable of more than this. Win 1 away game and its 8pts.
Point at Chelsea or from deduction being lowered and suddenly they need that 9/10pt

It's not the most unrealistic view surely? I cant see Luton winning more than 5pts anyway, so maybe i'm just deluded.
Sorry Trickiest, but they only need 2 points more than us to go ahead of us in the table.

1 point more than us and no change in the goal difference balance then we would be level on points but we would be ahead on goal difference.
2 points more than us and they would be a point ahead of us, and so would be above us regardless of the two teams goal differences.

Even 1 point more than us could put them ahead of us if our goal difference became worse than theirs.

Went out with a lass from that way for a time 🤮. Proper, "hold on Bolly Knickers, I'm firing up the Quatro", to get out of there.

There is only one slight positive about being in a relegation fight and that is our final games mean something.
We would all settle for mid table but at least there is some excitement going into the final 5 games

I think I'm steering clear of this thread for the next month, the pessimism to be found here is out of control. We aren't dead yet everybody, even the bookies give us a greater chance of staying up than going down which tends to be a good barometer. I wouldn't swap our position and fixtures with Luton's in a million years. Quite why some of you think they're the second coming of Cloughies invincibles all of a sudden I will never know.

Forest have always good at turning a drama into a crisis though. ;)

Don't leave, we need the positive posters like yourself to stay in the thread and give help to the deranged, the newly deranged and the on the fencers.

I entered the deranged territory yesterday evening, a black hole that i hadn't been in since Leeds away last year. But then i kept picturing Waka Waka breaking out at Turf Moor and saying to everyone that all of that agony of last season was absolutely worth it. So i'm now in the positive-ISH camp.

This is the cost that we have to pay for the potential payoff of Waka Waka and another summer of throwing money around every corner of the world on another 15 lads with exciting youtube clips and loving every second of it 😍

LOL

Taking pessimism as far as it goes. Why would Super Luton fail to win two of those five games?

Anyone seriously believing that Luton will suddenly win three of their last five needs to give up posting for a while.

The team who’s worse than us all of a sudden are world beaters because he didn’t beat a decent wolves team, I love it.

Everton - W
City - huge L
Blades - W
Chelski - D
Burnleh - W

Considering I THINK we’re better than Everton, much better than Sheffield and Burnley who barely have anything to play for (specifically Sheffield) and Chelsea will be on the beach, the results I laid out will happen. Book it, put the kids college funds on it (please don’t).

You're selling me a good time Thomas and i'm buying it. Off to bed with a dream.

If Muric hadn't gone to the same school as Turner and Vlach, Burnley would have been 3 points behind Forest now.

Everytine I have seen Burnley and Sheff U recently in the highlights, they have given the teams a good go, you just know when charity FC rolls into town, and gifts them a goal or 2, we'll struggle to even get draws up at their places.

I'm with Thomas

I've seen people saying Luton will pick up nine points

Will they bollocks!

We did well last season because the players we had were quality for that short period and coops was able to get them all up for the fight tactically and mentally. Luton doesn’t have a Felipe Taiwo Danilo Lodi or Kaylor Navas to rely on.

They’re an injury riddled team with not much quality.

This gameweek last season, we were just a point above Leicester and had the worst goal difference in the league. We'd just beaten Brighton for our first win in 11 games. We were also only six points off the bottom of the league at that point and had no possibility of any points being returned to us.

That Brighton game is significant because that own goal just before half time was the catalyst for what happened over the next five games. When we lost to Brentford, we actually went back into the relegation zone as well. In the end, we stayed up quite comfortably by four points.

I can't lie and say for certain we're going to stay up and I've been negative quite a few times this season, it's been in some ways more of a shit season than last season.

When I look at the teams under us, who have been down there all season, defensively they're just awful. They've had some plucky results but I have to say, I feel like getting above Southampton, Leeds, Leicester and Everton last year was harder than Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley this.

Reality is Reds, we have three games against teams below or just above us, win them and that's 35 points, which would also mathematically relegate Burnley and Sheffield United no matter what.

We have Everton, City, Sheffield United, Chelsea, Burnley.
Everton have Forest, Liverpool, Brentford, Luton, Sheffield United and Arsenal.
Luton have Brentford, Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Fulham.
Burnley have Sheffield, Man U, Newcastle, Spurs and us.
Sheffield have Burnley, Man U, Newcastle, us, Everton and Spurs.

35 is the golden number right now. Everton need 8, we need 9, Luton 10, Burnley 15 and Sheffield United 19 for safety.
