We had 3 points for breaching and another 3 as it was a “large” breach. Got 2 back for good behaviour so net -4.
We now appeal and get the covid losses and promotion bonus in/ out of the equation. So we now have a breach but a small one.
In that scenario we still get the 3 points for a breach but not the extra 3 for the big breach. The good behaviour still stands and so we now have a net -1.

3 points better off than we currently are.

A nice thought 😁

Shame we've still got FFP/Points deduction hanging over us ahead of two seismic games in our season within the next 8 days.

Who needs focus anyway?

What was the latest we could have appealed? I’d have waited as late as we could. Maybe we had 7 days I don’t know.

I think the 4 points still gives us a bit of clarity.

As mentioned somewhere above, if we can achieve a more favourable position on the Covid losses and promotion bonuses, that gives us more room to work with this summer and beyond, I think that may be as important as a reduction in the 4 point penalty.

OMG, WHY APPEAL? The most we will probably get back is 1 more point off whereas there will be the chance to lose the -2 mitigated points for cooperation and PL will want to try and get back to their initial 8 points deduction.

However much we want to rebel and let everyone know how we feel I DO NOT THINK WE NEED THIS DISTRACTION RIGHT NOW.

It was apparently hard enough to win with us having it hanging over our heads before. Now we STILL have it hanging over the heads of our team. Which imbecile thought this was a good idea. Now we will give the Commission the opportunity to tailor the deduction to what they need to send us down after the season has finished. IT IS NO LONGER IN OUR OWN HANDS. Referees are now still going to think we're a bunch of entitled ""£"$% moaning about a rule we DID break (however good the reason was for it) and will continue their anti Forest behaviour.

I really cannot believe we made this decision to ruin our chance of staying up. If the argument is that we made need that 1 point then are we playing well enough to deserve to stay up? we shouldn't need that point. Now however with a possibly distracted team again we may need FAAAAAAAAAAAR more than 1 possible extra point.

NOT HAPPY..
Weak.

I say good on Forest for fighting back, when things need to change someone needs make the first move.

This will cause a domino effect with more and more teams bringing legal cases against the Premierleague and they will be forced to change.

I really hope these mollycoddled fairies pull their fingers out and start performing and render the result of any appeal immaterial.

Are we really arguing over one potential point and spending thousands in order to do so, we should have more confidence in our own abilities on the pitch to come out of this situation.

Bepe well be laughing all the way to the bank at this rate along with the Leicester case.

I cant remember the Time of the announcement but it feels to me we announced this like we were trying to be the last second bidder on ebay maybe we used a sniper to send the email with 3s remaining 🤣

Did I see somewhere when reading about Everton's first case that with the appeal, they only consider new arguments/evidence that weren't presented in the initial hearing?

If so, things like promotion bonuses / COVID losses were surely already raised, so therefor can't be again?

(Might have made that up, but sure I remember reading something similar)

Lots of the comments are probably right though. We only cared after we got points deducted, before that we wanted Everton to get a huge deduction.

No one cared for them when they protested, so they're probably in the right to call this out.

In the space of two months we've got from chatting about FFP, to full-blown Everton 'conspiracy / big-six-cartel etc' and it's boring.

We can present new supporting evidence
So if we can illustrate that others Fulham/Bmuff for example have not been penalised to the same extent as us for coved & promotion bonus’s etc that would have to be considered

Or maybe it would be the case, that they themselves would be looked at again in particular for Promotion Bonuses.

As in it wouldn't get Nottingham Forest off, but it would get them looked at and it charged if the adjustment moved them over. That generally is how precedents can be set.
