Leicester are opening urgent Legal Proceedings against the EPL and the EFL.

This is the start of what is to come. If Everton get hit hard on 2nd Charge I think they will take legal action
Man City probably already taking action
If Forest appeal and don't get a reduction, Forest will open legal proceedings too.

If all these things start happening I can see the Big 6 sneaking out the back door to the ESL before they get caught with PSR breaches.

Ha, I've really had to laugh at the "let's put it all behind us and move on!" shouts lol. I commend the sentiment, but it's just not that simple sadly. No chance of that happening until for some time at this rate. Same will be happening at the club too.

The damage those who have put us in position have done to our season is up there with some of the worst ever inflicted by any tenure. Stuff like this doesn't just disappear overnight sadly. Even if every Forest fan suddenly shut up about it, those other clubs who it affects wouldn't.
I don't think you can say too much about not letting things drop Alf. How is Billy these days.

The Big Six didn't try to leave the Premier League to join a Super League. They tried to replace the Champions League with a closed shop Super League and play in it alongside the Premier League.

Ha, tbf though mate, that's entirely the point I'm making. :)

Billy's a great example, as Coops will be. Until other people mimic or better their success, then the bench mark will always be there (how many times do people still compare stuff to Clough and his days?)

Posters expecting other posters to get over stuff like Coops & this FFP scenario within a few days are deluded. But, even if everyone genuinely could, the FFP situation will stoke the fires in the media and other clubs to the point that it aint going anywhere soon regardless.

They were also talking previously about suing Everton, then us as recently as in January.

I think the legal profession is going to easily demonstrate Profitability and Sustainability at least.

The EPL are making a massive dogs dinner out of all of this. I genuinely think that there are clubs that have breached and the can of worms that legal action could uncover could be ridiculous.

Bit like Merson calling out the player gambling bans recently. The sport is rife with it.

The promotion bonuses hurt us more than most other things in the accounts. Its been stated by financial experts such as Kieran Maguire that these can be excluded, but we were informed late in the day that wasn't the case.

Makes me think that other clubs have excluded them previously or why would Maguire have suggested they could be. We should be scouring EPL club accounts over the PSR period to see if all promoted clubs have put them in the accounts. If they haven't we need to ask to be treated equally regardless of points penalty because it impacts us next year too.

If we are relegated how will the EFL treat these losses, because we'd look a lot better without that 21m of loss.

Same with Covid. We should be demanding transparency on all clubs losses because if it isn't strictly Covid related it provides an unfair sporting advantage per the PSR definition. And if it can't be proven that the losses were recorded accurately we should demand that they be capped as per the EFL.

Its the EPLs role to ensure the reporting rules have been followed and if they haven't put any governance in to ensure this it would surely enable us to call on that years accounts to be revisited across the board.

Forest won't appeal if we've got any semblance of rational thought left in us. It will only go one way.

Covid Allowances and Promotion bonuses, are the reasons why we submit a appeal. Fulham and Bournemouth both claimed 20m promotion bonuses in the EFL the same as us. Without this exclusion all 3 clubs would have breached by 10-15m in the EFL. Be very interesting to see if Fulham and Bournemouth were allowed to exclude these bonuses.

If we appeal we deserve to go down. The PL recommended 8 points & we got off with 4. We'll also have uncertainty hanging over us for the rest of the season.....knowing we could be docked more points. Killing the atmosphere stone-dead.

Would seriously kill any kind of collective mood lift we've had since the initial outcome.

Accept & charge up that table ffs.

8 points was a ridiculous request when insolvency only brings about 9.

That is your opinion, In my opinion if the legal advice suggests we appeal then we appeal, if it doesn't then we don't appeal. I back either options.
As long as we are above that line come May then I will be happy.

Legal advice/opinion doesn't take into account fan feeling, player mind-set, focus and atmosphere though pal.

Much more important than potentially getting a point back or losing several more that could see us relegated even if we manage to stay up in the first instance.

Could you imagine if we stayed up & an appeal meant we're docked more points (very likely given the report) & we're then relegated?

No thanks.

Jamie Martin is the latest to interview Kieran Maguire, it looks like we'll need to raise over £20 million before July 31st (clubs can get an extension beyond june) to he within PSR this year. I'm not sure whether that includes the Mangala money or not.

It's an interesting interview, he talks about shirt sponsorship deals, clubs knowing we needed to sell Player A so submitting low offers.

I wish someone like Kieran could have input in drawing up new rules, he's a proper fan who knows his sheeeet

it took us 23 years of agony to get back to the Prem, if we go down and it takes as long again most posters on here will be dead.
we have to survive for the sake of the club

23 years from now, I’ll only be 66. If I die before I’m 69 I’d be very disappointed.

I have a mate - who is a Leicester fan ( I know).

If you think that after they won the f***ing PREMIER LEAGUE they sold Kante & Mahrez ( which is depressing in itself).

They then went on to sell Maguire, Fofana, Madison & Barnes plus more for HUGE money & they're still in the shit.

Yes I know they have a high wage bill but this is a team that won the PL & FA Cup, sold their best best players year after year and STILL breached PSR. Because they're not top 6.

What chance have any club out of the top 6 realistically got?

I'll answer that myself.

f*** ALL

The best we can wish for is to become a Brighton.
