One less gobshite...
They were talking about Alonso and the latest episode of Totally Football. He is the hottest managerial in European football after just 18 months in the main job. He is currently linked with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They must all be wondering if they should go early to avoid a bloodbath. Maybe one have them has gone early.

It would be funnyAF if he beats Klopp in the Europa League and then goes elsewhere.

Kicker reports an interview, where Alonso does not rule it out:

But, reading between the lines…. Yeah, I think he‘s off to Bayern.

I think it would be the smartest choice to pick Munich. Less pressure probably than Liverpool or Barcelona.

Where's me hammer?
Massive news tonight, the next Trainer of FC Bayern will be none other than….

…..Xabi Alonso, currently of Leverkusen. He will join Bayern in the summer.

He is doing a great job with Die Werkself, and its hilarious that the scousers thought he would go there, but they perhaps forgot he also represented Bayern with some distinction.

Sums up German football pretty well.

Anybody trys to upset the Bayern Apple cart they just go and take the best they have and blow them out the water..... they've done it a few times already with Dortmund, I think it's a terrible thing for German football that any competition gets decimated before it can gain any traction

Gareth Southgate is in the posh seats at the Allianz Arena, and his trip has just been made worthwhile as Harry Kane notches his 26th goal of the season, in today‘s Topspiel der Woche, between Bayern and Leipzig.

Kane scores what looks like a last minute winner. Hmm, Choupo-Moting looked like he was borderline offside though.

If there was a check with VAR, it was a very quick one!

It was checked, and Choupo-Moting was onside.

And it’s indeed the winner, his 27th of the season!

2-1 Bayern, who probably just shaded a tense encounter.

I would also add, the sheer f***ing irony of Bayern‘s fans having a banner in front of the Sudkurve reading „Gegen den moderne Fußball“ („against the modern football“) is ridiculous, given they are the one German club who’ve benefited the most from money pouring into the game.

This intro really brings back memories. Great times watching Italian football on Channel 4. James Richardson was a natural as the host.

Also remember times studying in the 90s to early 2000s watching the highlights program which was on really late at night.

His European football podcast is a decent listen but for pure Italia 90s joy the golazzo one where he pours over the good old days and some frankly bonkers stories of what happened at the time is a great way to kill time.

I love listening to him. He has a great tone of voice and knowledge of the game. The favourite uncle you never had.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s always a great thing when someone so obviously enjoys their work.
I think James Richardson has got massively more arsey as the years have gone on. Maybe he was always like that or maybe it’s just an age thing.

Either way, I think he’s really good and the Totally Football Show, it’s guests and the BT Sport european nights are great TV.
