It could be a good fun game to go back through this thread and find every poster that said he wasn’t good enough…

Not gonna do that, but it does show that with a little bit of patience, perseverance and experience, players can come good.

Outstanding today. Again.
That said most player threads are crazy. A player goes from hero to zero and back constantly through the season depending on a win or two or a couple of defeats.

Agreed, somewhere on this thread I say before the season started he would be our most improved player of the year, and I'm sticking with that. That's twice now in 2 games our opponents have had to switch their best winger away from Nico

Second one I've got wrong.

My motm today. Gave their winger absolutely f**k all today. He's been great since he came back in. Usually better in a more advanced position but his defending was superb today.

Said it before. There's a reason why he had international caps at the age of 19 and went through the youth system at a club like Liverpool.

I hope what people are seeing now puts the Spence v Williams debate to bed, because I think it's clear to see who has more focus and professionalism to improve and reach the top.

He's also the one player who gave Spence such a rough time in the Championship playing for Fulham. Forest made the correct decision on this one.

Someone's clearly been working on the mental side of his game because his decision making seems to be a lot better recently.

Just goes to show doesn't it, we bought obvious potential with a few weaknesses but he's really starting to show it.

He seems physically strong enough too, decent engine and doesn't seem to get injured much (except when he gets kicked in the face by his team mates) so reliable in that aspect.

I totally eat my words. For a while I didn't think he would make a prem player. Defensively the improvement this season is huge. More disciplined, better decisions and crucially he's shown he can make precise tackles and interceptions under pressure. I really like him now.

We have a lot of good right backs.

Great example of fans needing to give players a bit of slack and having some patience. Always had great energy and enthusiasm but seemed to have thrived under Nuno having extra responsibilities to defend in a 4. Up against a quality player today and snapped in time and time again, just losing him once in first half. showed great tenacity going forward -really pleased for him. Maybe some on here, those quick to judge, consider past posts.

I love a full-back, and I love this lad. Commitment in buckets, and he always puts in a shift.

Really pleased to see him doing well - his defensive positioning has improved massively so credit to him for taking on board all the coaching. Always good going forward, great energy and another where you feel (like CHO and Morgan to a lesser degree) that there's more to come...

Been really good the last two games. Showed some real composure and flair Vs Newcastle but I absolutely loved his aggression in the tackle today. Absolutely brilliant.

Really happy for him as he had some crap games last season and was just getting it together before getting the injury.
