It's always been shit getting out the ground the same as most other grounds in the country and Europe its not really a massive problem just part of going to football west ham have a fancy new stadium custom designed for the Olympics and that's 10 times worse to get away from than our ground ill live with it takes me 20mins to get back to my car after a match I don't think that's the end of the world

The answer. Temporary pontoon.

Fireworks on making land just to piss off those from Huddersfield who clearly haven’t witnessed the Chinese invention, so claim witchcraft

I was thinking earlier on. The Main stand was completed around 1968, the BC around 1980, the Bridgford 1992 and the TE 1994. You think of the Peter Taylor stand being ancient, even when the TE was built. But the PT stand is only 26 years older than the Trent End and the Trent End itself is 30 years old but we still think of it as modern.

It does show how the ground has fallen behind the times.

Use the existing structures and fix a zip wire to the trent end and have a landing spot the other side. I've done a detailed design drawing

I admire your community spirit Dizz, but given both locations, shouldn't the responsibility be with Rushcliffe BC?
Don't know how much community spirit I'd have if I end up slipping and taking a few fans coming up the muddy bank with me haha!
I'm always surprised no one has fallen in the bit with the bollards and river lock, because there's only a railing and a bollard. No lights there either.

Knowing me, I'd go down there, make it look all nice and get charged for vandalism.

Update in The Athletic today from an interview with Cartledge

Here are the main points from the article:

- Forest, have a "master plan" for the redevelopment of the City Ground, envisioning a modernized stadium and facilities.
- Initial steps include the installation of new "corner boxes" for executive suites, inspired by Stadium 974 from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with plans to open before the season's end.
- The broader redevelopment plan aims to increase the stadium's capacity to 40,000, add 5,000 seats to the Bridgford Stand, replace the Peter Taylor Stand with a two-tier 10,000-seat replacement, build a state-of-the-art training ground, open a museum, and either extend the lease or buy the freehold from Nottingham City Council.
- The redevelopment is seen as a way to accommodate more fans and generate significant new revenue streams, aligning with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.
- Challenges include navigating complexities with Nottingham City Council, particularly regarding the lease/freehold agreement for the stadium's land.
- Despite potential delays and complications, including the council's financial crisis, the club is committed to proceeding with redevelopment plans, even considering the construction of a new stadium as a last resort.
- The project, including the training ground and stadium enhancements, aims to be completed by 2027, with the intention of making Nottingham Forest more competitive and contributing to the city's economic growth.
- The redevelopment plan is ambitious and not dependent on the club remaining in the Premier League, with a strong fan base and the potential to accommodate a larger stadium capacity.

Is this not just the same as the original unveiling?

I thought the lease was renegotiated to 999 years prior to the submission of the original PT Stand plans?

I was close - it's now a 250 year one

Yeah, and I’ve got a master plan to fly to the Moon, which is about as likely as any of that drivel from Forest ever coming to fruition, apart from the „moving to a new stadium“ bit.

Going back to the discussion about the state of Trentside and the road by the river.
Just had it confirmed to me that the road is the responsibility of the City Council, and they're wanting to look at the state of the potholes down there with some urgency.
From what I can tell, the club are actively pushing for improvements down here as well.

The Athletic article says the deal for the new lease was never completed

It certainly needs some form of explanation given that the former chairman, Nicholas Randall, announced in 2019 that the club had been granted a new 250-year-lease. Randall said he was “delighted” to secure the future of the club’s home ground.

In fact, the agreement was never completed. Forest have been operating, as before, with a 50-year lease agreement from 2011 and, before starting a redevelopment of this magnitude, the club need the securities and insurance of knowing the council will not, at some point, come up with alternative plans for what is a prime riverside location. As it stands, there is no such guarantee, even though the ground was added to the community asset register following an application by the club’s supporters’ trust in 2017.

Sadly, this.

They're going to plonk us in a soulless, out of town bowl aren't they? :(

Well I’m much more positive about this news!
Gives me renewed confidence as to our long term future under the big man ( despite the myriad of problems that continue to mount in the back office )..
