I love the kidney in a pie. Is it me or do you not see steak and kidney pies as much? It tends to be steak and ale instead.

Agreed kidney seems to have disappeared. When it’s cooked right I love liver and onions as well. Served with mash, peas and thick gravy.

Steak and kidney puddings are the bomb - that with chips, gravy and mushy peas. Not sure of they're a northern thing though I don't remember getting them when 'local'.

Not particularly, to be honest. I like fries with salt and vinegar. Sweet potato fries only need salt. The meats available here in Canada are real good. One huge benefit of a low population density is tons of farmland. When I used to go to New Brunswick to see my Mom (before she passed) the basic restaurant food there was absolutely incredible. And cheap.

My go to chippy selection when I was younger was either saveloy or steak and kidney pie with chips.
Nowadays I tend to go for a good fishcake and chips. Steak and kidder pies are definitely going out of fashion for some reason.
