Can't wait for my OBE for service to shitposting on the internet if this chancer has got one.
Yeah, he resigned after Fawaz dicked him around. Was it services to getting pissed in Spain for the last 5 years, living off the ridiculous money he managed to squeeze out of football management
To think Cloughie only got an OBE as well.
Anyway I don’t actually have an issue with him as such, I try not to think too much about that era but didn’t he come in, was given false promises and did the decent thing and walked out of principle?
Agreed. He was a terrible fit here and should never have been appointed, but he's not the worst manager we've had by a longshot and has had success elsewhere. Could have hung around for the payoff after it was clear it wasn't going to work, but decided to do the honourable thing and resign instead.Honestly, we've had way worse in the manager's job. Not my favourite, tactically, but I've actually got some respect for McLeish for the way he conducted himself here.

The club was a mess after Fawaz took over from cousin Omar, sacked SOD, then culminated in that chaotic transfer window that ended with the George Boyd eye test on deadline day.

Yeah that is how I remembered it. Fairly decent lad.Agreed. I've no ill will towards McLeish personally.
Fair play AlexHe's involved with a charity for Chron's and Colitis as he has kids with the diseases.

This was especially when O'Driscoll had coached many of the players at Forest the season before, or had brought them in during the summer. A fair amount of the players O'Driscoll brought in were also ones he knew at Doncaster (Sharp, Coppinger, Gillet) and there's a decent chance they might have come for the manager. It wasn't his fault. He was brought in with false promises. Chris Burke didn't sign, then George Boyd didn't sign.
Then he's thrown a Kuwaiti goalkeeper who's being presented to him like he's the best thing since sliced bread.
Not sure how anyone could get a team together after that, when the players are already feeling low after O'Driscoll's unfair dismissal.
