Does he have a recall clause in January?

Chance to impress a new manager and is better than any striker we have available right now because he can actually move.

I can't see us having the funds available for a new striker in January and even if we did, mid season is usually shit to bring quality in. Furthermore, should any available funds be spent on a GK instead?

Beggers can't be choosers right now, get him back.

Wonder what the reaction would have been in August if the answer to a spell of poor form was to sack Cooper and recall Dennis.

He's been injured, unlikely to be match till match, might get a few cameos up to then. It's the Forest way.

But yes would be worth having another front man in the squad, can't afford to be buying another 7 players this window. Hoping Nuno can fit him in a system that suits him.

LTLF: We can be a mid table side!

Also LTLF: is bombsquaded Dennis the solution to our attacking issues?

I'd take this Dennis in a heartbeat:

Trouble is, we've seen very little to suggest that's the same person.

Suppose the hope is that under the right manager he can be useful, and maybe Nuno is that man? (Id rate the chances of that happening as very very slim)

I was about to say call the police as there is someone impersonating Dennis, bit until 2mins onwards it was pretty gash.

The last bit was good though.

One less gobshite...
Dennis and Elanga failing to lookup and make a decisive pass could only be worsened by adding a 3rd forward who loves a cul-de-sac.

We probably signed him off the back of this video (or something similar).

He was such a strange player for us last year - only ever on his own wavelength, didn't seem to be following team instructions well but did have the odd flash of ability, and chipped in with a couple of goals and few assists.

Lost count of the times he'd come on and I'd think 'maybe this is the time', only to see him pass to the opposition and/or do his slow cut inside routine to no effect.

Strange player (and individual) is my take, though one who isn't without bags of natural ability.

He absolutely seems to have talent, just unfortunately in short flashes. Possibly down to confidence, as has been said about many other players at the moment - which is not surprising they are over thinking lots of their own and team aspects.

I’d take Dennis over Origi - but that bar is not very high!
Definitely. Given Dennis is our player for another two and a half years, I wouldn't be against giving him six months to see if Nuno can get a tune out of him. I can't imagine them being in the same wavelength mind.

I'm not against giving Dennis a shot under Nuno, some players find themselves under different managers and he's definitely got talent, but I'd certainly be bringing in another forward anyway regardless. An injury hit season and 0 goals in 8 games in a far worse league isn't encouraging.

I don't get it when any footballer is like this.
They have been playing football all their lives every day at a high level and cannot do the basics.

It's beyond me
Do you reckon it's just bad academy setups/staff? Like training them up on status and "talent", rather than actually practically grounding them to do a job?

This sort of thread reminds me of those desperate times during the last 23 years when the only names mentioned in our hour of need were failed former players.

Plenty of players out there, they just need weeding out by people who are paid a wage to do that job. Other clubs can do it, why can't we?

While I agree I think in the case of Dennis it's because you have to hope that the four year deal wasn't a complete waste of time/money (as well as his decent Watford return at this level).

I think he's done as a top level footballer though - my guess is that there's something off mentality wise, based mainly on his crazy eyes admittedly!

I thought bringing him back was a shit idea a couple weeks ago but you know what, considering what Nuno has done for some of the other lads, I actually think he could make sense of Dennis.

Dennis has come in with a pretty big fee, off the back of a good season for Watford and while he was pretty poor last year, in some games he showed he did have some talent.

If the club isn't going to go all out for a forward in January, which I think given Wood's form and Awoniyi's pending return they won't, I'd actually take Dennis back and f*** Origi off.
