I’ve probably mentioned it before but just thought I’d say again that my wife and I have been through 8 (EIGHT on the vidiprinter) miscarriages at various stages and we still manage to fulfil our jobs perfectly well.

Whatever the reason Arter is only playing for the U21 is sort of irrelevant but I suspect it’s probably just that he’s no longer good enough and not to do with any pain he may still be suffering. It must be difficult to sack a footballer for poor performance if they consistently put in the require effort levels because the nature of promotion/relegation means that quality of the playing staff can naturally go up (or down).

It’s not the same as other jobs where it’s not acceptable to tail off (like doctors or structural engineers, or bricklayers or accountants or chefs).

I think this is a bit of really good news. Another big dollop of feel good factor swirling round the club.

And yet still managed to make no sense, impressive.
Clearly I need to type it more slowly for you then.

If you’re moaning that we’re paying him £40k per week to not be involved - you’re inferring that you’d prefer him to earn that money by being involved with the first team.

All of which was very clear in the post, which made perfect sense to anyone with at least half of their brain engaged. Do keep up chap.

Sorry to learn that Morp. Dealing with that just once is tough enough, irrespective of personal circumstances.
Cheers - i should clarify what i meant about Arter too. I think he's one of those footballers who is lucky to have secured a good contract and fair play to him. The reason why he no longer gets anywhere near the first team is between him and the club and that's about it for me.

Holy shite. Can't imagine what you both must have gone through. :(

Sending you our love from me and the Geordie.

If you actually read the posts my points were about how a previous tragedy would affect his ability to play football now. At no point did I say I wanted him to be involved in the first team, jeez 😆

Remember, read the post. Not the name of the poster.

If you actually read the posts...
...the reported £40k+ a week he gets from us without actually having to do anything...

Hence why I literally said it was inferred.

Don't flatter yourself, literally anyone would have got the same response from me, regardless of their username.

Everyone deals with personal tragedy in their own way. Some handle it and are able to return to their lives seemingly with no ill effects, others carry it for a long time and it can affect them even when they least expect it.

Well he is still doing something for the club and he has some knowledge that is good to be passed on. Huge experience and lots of top flight experience to boot. Great for the other players in that team to be captained by someone of that calibre. He cant make the first team but still contributes to the club. Got to admire that.

Whilst I’m as frustrated as most other supporters about the ongoing benefits that Harry Arter has received from the Club, we have contractual commitments which we are obliged to meet.

Hopefully the Club will learn from this issue in the future.

I sympathise with the personal problems the player has encountered, and accept that he is meeting his contractual obligations.

Unless Club and player agree an early settlement, it will carry on until 30th June 2024.

Who's the better signing out of Harry Arter or Jonjo Shelvey? Can we get a poll please?
I reckon financially Arter will probably turn out to be the worst. Both offered absolutely nothing on the pitch
