Is he worth £5m, potentially. Would we want more than £2m if the shoe was on the other foot, most definitely.
Even without the injuries, he's not really anything more than a half decent Championship left back. I can't envisage a world where he'll ever be worth £5m.

If we had an out of favour player who was injury prone and someone offered £2m for him, I'd absolutely snap their hand off personally. No one is going to pay more than that for Max Lowe.

Agreed. I think even if they were both the same price I'd go for Toffolo. Much more reliable fitness wise

Agreed on the counter points, but we also haven’t got a proper view on his potential because of injuries.

Clearly there’s lots of potential there, hence why the club has gone in with bids despite the injuries last year.

I’m not advocating for £5m, just saying that I feel he has more to offer that being an average Championship LB. Needs to stay fit now.

Lowe's a decent player and seemingly a good sort. It's a shame he's in the position he is transfer wise, since no-one will buy him at the fee Sheff U reportedly want. I just hope he gets some games for them; it would be sad for him to waste years going into his peak.

When Lowe first arrived here, before he was injured, looked like a £5m wing-back, no questions asked.

When he returned to the side, after the injury, was completely underwhelming.

Didn't see it myself. He's decent enough in the Championship, but he's never looked like he'll be able to become one of the better left backs in that league to me (never mind the Premier League) and at 25 years hold he isn't likely to improve much at this stage; what we've seen of him is most likely as good as he's ever going to get.

We had Colback (a midfielder in his 30s) playing at LWB after Lowe got injured and we didn't really miss him at all IMO.

This seems to have resurfaced today as Heckingbottomfeeder has been bleating on about our pathetic low offers, he's a complete and utter bellend.

I mean its not like we are trying to buy a guy who is not wanted by his current championship club having played for them a grand total of 8 times since they bought him and was also injured a fair bit throughout his loan period with us (Of the 39 league games he could have played, he missed about half due to injuries).

I like Lowe but their prick of a manager is going to do him out of the chance of playing in the Premier league.

Perhaps also its worth them remembering that they bought Jack Robinson from us for a pittance because of their Premier league status and similarly nicked Osborn for a low fee as well.

The bloke will get the karma that is coming to him eventually. He has no respect, and he should be lucky to find himself in that job in the first place.

I’ll take great pleasure in his demise next season.

I really hate Heckingbottom. Every manager is paid to be one-eyed about their club and their interests but most keep it to themselves in the main. This guy is like a walking wind up/moaning machine without a filter. I hold him personally responsible for much of the bile and trouble relating to the SF-nearly all of which was completely avoidable.
We all enjoy the rivalries in football but this is another thing all together and I wouldn't be surprised if clubs shy away from doing business with Sheff U if they have to deal with this twerp...
Absolutely, I can’t believe proper punishment never came of that Spence incident - he knew exactly what he was doing. I have never seen anything like that before, and the fact he didn’t even get sent to the stand was insane to me, what would a manager have to do? That was up there with the Pardew head but. And why do you think he defended thugs like McBurnie after what he did.

Like I say, he’s the walking equivalent of Derby - karma will catch him up eventually too.

Well said Rzar, the guy is an arse. Hope he and Sheff Utd have a miserable season.

I agree, his tenure will be short and deservedly so, he did far less with a squad of similair value to Fulham and Bournemouth who proved that with their financial advantages even average managers like Silva and Parker can compete and succeed.

He may still hold a grudge because at one point we were rumoured to be appointing him but I'm so glad we didn't as genuinely seeing his sour bitter face just immediately annoys me.

I'm not sure of he has soured his current club or the club has soured him but his actions in the playoffs particularly the 2nd leg, griping about (gulp) fans celebrating scoring a goal and then the clubs response to their two thugs actions have made them both lose any goodwill that I had had with Wilder. He seems to fail upwards but he will never be a premier league manager in my opinion, he is too tactically inept and emotionally unintelligent.

Contrast him to Corberan who was magnanimous in defeat despite arguably having actual reason to feel short changed, embracing Cooper before the final whistle had been blown and refusing to get embroiled in Var/penalty shouts. God even Parker I have to begrudgingly (Very begrudging mind you) give credit because his halftime speech against us became a play by play of what actually happened.

I hope his £40m strike force ends up with some sort of ban and he is out by the World Cup.

Totally agree that Heck comes across badly but his description of the bid just reminds me of

And that’s it in a nutshell.

Why on earth managers need to use terms like ridiculously low or derisory is beyond me. What does it achieve?. Ultimately every club is in a market and will sell players to balance the books, particularly in the championship, so why would you want to insult your industry colleagues rather than just quietly say no?

Remember Heckingbottom slamming the ball into Spence's stomach? Sheff Utd are without class or decency. Scumbags of the highest order

He did that to get Spence sent off and to get some fight out his team who were struggling at that point.... straight out the Warnock play book.... nearly worked as well

I've seen so much stuff about this and I feel I'm missing something. Guys running to pick a ball up, lifts arm to let the guy controlling it know he's picking ball up, old guy acts like that's a bad thing and grabs his arm, player moves on without making a big deal about it at all

I honestly don't get how I have seen this here, on FB, on Reddit and on BBC sports page, and I barely use any of them so it's obviously a "big" talking point, has football become this boring two people going for the same ball at the same time is worth discussion!?

He showed a lack of respect to not only an older gentleman, but someone who is rightly respected in the game by nudging at his midriff while he was trying to simply pass the ball back.

Even if you are right I think the fact it is a club renowned for these sort of antics makes you question if it is just another misunderstanding of poor old sheff utd and their hard done to innocent players or they are absolute scum!!

I mean he's an older gentleman who is a football manager, it would be more disrespectful to treat him differently based on his age imo. But my main question was more about how an incident that is less than 2 seconds according to that clip got so much attention, and yet here I am adding to that attention and wasting my own time and yours discussing it. So I guess I have actually proven why it's getting attention and become part of the problem!!
