Rodrigo is a decent player who has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season in a shit Leeds side. If the £3m release clause is true, he'd be worth a punt IMO.
Both players would have nominal assigned values in any deal. And you'd assume agents still try to push those (albeit academic) numbers as high as possible. Certainly they wouldn't let themselves lose out.

He knows the league, is a proven goalscorer and seems a good egg.
If we aren't buying a top drawer striker, I'd take Rodrigo at that price and come back to it again next summer.

Ayew out, Rodrigo in. Definitely improves the squad, but I wouldn't be going OTT on his wages or deal length.
We will naturally have to have a smaller squad this season because a couple of our players need registering that didn't last season to get in the 25. So I would wait and see what happens first.
