I can’t wait for the window the slam shut so we can return to discussing Bren banging goals in for us.

I’m almost certain he’s staying with us and his agent just wants a fairer wage, which I can’t disagree with when we’re paying a few hundred grand a week out to people who will never play for us again.

POV, you are a Brentford fan posting on an opposition forum:

In the realm of achievement, there exists a pinnacle of greatness that only a select few can reach. Among them, there is one individual whose brilliance shines like a beacon of unparalleled excellence. Allow me to introduce the embodiment of triumph, the maestro of success, the undisputed champion in every domain - none other than myself.

From the earliest moments of my existence, it was evident that greatness coursed through my veins. While my peers stumbled through the maze of life, I surged ahead, propelled by an insatiable hunger for success. With every challenge that presented itself, I transformed adversity into opportunity, weaving a tapestry of triumphs that could rival the gods.

Intellect, the cornerstone of my prodigious capabilities, has been a guiding light throughout my journey. The sheer depth and breadth of my knowledge leave lesser minds awestruck and humbled. From the intricacies of quantum mechanics to the nuances of ancient philosophy, there is no domain in which I do not possess a mastery unmatched by my contemporaries.

But knowledge alone is not the sole measure of greatness. My exceptional intellect is complemented by a relentless work ethic, a tenacity that pushes me to go beyond the limits of what others perceive as possible. While others languish in the comfort of mediocrity, I rise above, embracing challenges with unwavering determination and an indomitable spirit.

The realm of academia has been a mere playground for my intellectual prowess. Throughout my academic career, I have shattered records and surpassed expectations with ease. My acumen has been recognized by prestigious institutions, eager to harness my extraordinary talents. Scholarships, awards, and accolades form a constellation around my name, testaments to my unstoppable brilliance.

But my prowess extends far beyond the hallowed halls of education. In the realm of artistry, my talents soar to extraordinary heights. With a mere brushstroke, I breathe life into canvases, evoking emotions that touch the depths of the human soul. Critics and connoisseurs alike bow before the magnificence of my creations, recognizing them as masterpieces worthy of the annals of history.

In the realm of athleticism, I am a force to be reckoned with. My physical prowess and unyielding determination have brought me victory after victory. I effortlessly dominate any field or court I step foot on, leaving my competitors in a state of disbelief. My name reverberates through stadiums, whispered in hushed tones by those in awe of my athletic prowess.

And let us not forget my charismatic allure, for my presence captivates all who bask in its radiance. I possess the gift of captivating audiences, commanding attention with every word and gesture. My eloquence flows effortlessly, captivating minds and winning hearts in equal measure. Charisma courses through my veins, making me a beacon of inspiration for those who yearn for greatness.

Yet, beyond my achievements lies a humility that only the truly extraordinary can possess. While I stand atop mountains of accomplishments, my feet remain firmly planted on the ground. I understand that true greatness is not measured by trophies or titles but by the impact one has on the world. It is this profound awareness that propels me to use my gifts to uplift others, to inspire them to reach the zenith of their potential.

In conclusion, my journey has been an awe-inspiring testament to the heights of human achievement. From the depths of my intellect to the breadth of my talents, there is no realm in which I have not triumphed. My name shall forever be etched in the annals of history, a testament to the indomitable spirit of greatness.

As I look back on my extraordinary journey, I am humbled by the magnitude of my accomplishments. I am not merely good; I am greatness personified. My talents, my achievements, and my unwavering determination make me an unparalleled force, a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.

So, as you gaze upon my triumphs and bask in the radiance of my brilliance, remember this: I am not just good; I am a paragon of greatness, an individual whose name shall echo through the ages as a testament to the heights humanity can reach.

This is it.

If wages ARE an issue then let's not make the same mistake we made with Samba.

I'm positive both BJ and his Dad can't seriously see Brentford as anything other than a sideways step. Possibly backwards in terms of potential & ambition.

And when a big side comes calling next summer he can go with our blessing.

I don’t think any of the negativity is really aimed at Brentford as a club. Their setup and process is bearing fruit and really quite enviable. They have a good team that are setup well and have adapted style to stay in the league and build.

…what does sour that is how quickly a socially vocal proportion of their fan base got high and mighty and started thinking they are some sort of bastion of football, looking and talking down to historically much larger clubs
"A socially vocal proportion of their fan base".

EVERY club has this, with the bigger the fan base, the more numerous are the socially vocal etc.

It is open to everyone to decide how much weight they give to such people. For myself, I don't pay them any heed, even at my own club, since I know they are not representative. Rather my experience is that for all that the average Bees fan is delighted at the way things are going (hardly the same as "high and mighty"), he/she is also aware that with every passing season, it only gets harder, not easier. Which is why whilst hopeful and optimistic, very few of us are taking anything for granted.

Which I guess is the same as NFFC fans. Taking this forum as an example, I guess the majority of your fanbase don't even read it, while of those who do, the majority only browse, and post rarely, if ever.

And as for those who do post, whether I agree with them or not, the majority seem typically fair and reasonable and provide for a good debate.

Which leaves a very unrepresentative, but socially vocal, few individual posters who seem to get a kick out of abusing others, especially visitors. Naturally enough, such individuals attract attention all out of proportion to their numbers, which presumably is why they do it.
But for this poster at least, they should know that their antics don't bother or deter me in the slightest, so they may carry on getting whatever kick it is they derive from lashing out all round them.

Now where was I? Oh yes, Brentford - I'm reasonably confident we'll have another good season, especially in the unlikely event that we managed to sign your Brennan Johnson, who was the reason I came on here in the first place (to see what your fans think of him).

Once again, a Brentford fan comes on here to tell everybody that the narcissistic weirdos who look down on everyone only represent a small portion of their fan base and acts like a complete narcissistic weirdo that looks down on everyone.

I think some people on here are underestimating how difficult the 2nd season is at this level. Plenty of teams have stayed up the first time and then gone down the year after.

We aren't going to finish top half.

It's pretty much nailed on the top 7 will be Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool (in no particular order).

That means the top 3 out of the rest of the PL will make up the top half - Brighton, Villa, Brentford, Fulham, West Ham, Palace are probably all ahead of us, to varying degrees.

Everton will be much stronger with Dyche for a full season than they were with Fat Frank.

We are in a mini-league with the following teams to avoid relegation - Luton, Sheff U, Burnley, Bournemouth, Everton and Wolves. It will take a couple more seasons really continuing to improve the team and the squad to join in the middle group.

As for injuries, I don't think many PL teams were down to the last two centre backs. Or had a time where all the strikers were injured. Or had to play people out of position at full back due to injuries.

At one point we had basically a whole team out injured which was player for player superior to that which was starting.
100%

We were lucky to stay up this year.

Staying up should be the only goal this year.

What is wrong with discussing football? Why do fans have to moan about visiting fans posting comments? Did you ever go to the pub with your mates and have a chat about football and do they all have to be Forest fans?

In this case though the pub is a Forest pub and every punter in it is a Forest fan, including your mates who in this instance are actually strangers you've met in this Forest pub a few minutes ago. And in this pub you're surprised when the punters don't take kindly to this new lad shouting 'Brentford!' over everyone.

Anyone is allowed in but don't expect the folk here to unanimously welcome in others if they are half on a wind up or want to talk about their own club on a 'Forest banter' board. There's also another subsection where you can get away with chatter about Villa and Brentford superiority...

Most Brentford fans are not deluded enough believe or expect we should belong in the EPL any longer than we actually deserve it, we also know we could drift out and down the leagues again. Whereas you and other Forest fans think success half a century ago means you belong in the top flight forever, that sounds a tad more delusional to me?

And in answer to your earlier question of why am I on here, possibly to give a bit more balance to some on the discussion with some more friendly Forest fans, like the ones on our forum being treated with interest and respect (mainly :ROFLMAO: )
I think you'll find that our 23 years out of the top flight gives us a greater sense of reality than you might expect.

However, we're not ashamed to remember and celebrate our past achievements, they're in the club's record books. Remember also we won promotion to the top flight in '77. In '78 we won the league in our first season in it and no team since Forest has done that. We won the League Cup the same year and had gone 42 league games, over a period of 12 months, unbeaten. We followed that up the season after ('79) by winning the League Cup again and winning the European Cup and then winning that again the following year. We also won the European Super Cup in '79. Only one other English team has won back-to-back European Cups and none since we did it. Don't forget that when we won it it was a pure knockout competition for the league winners only. No team achieved what we did in those few years, before or since. Some teams have done bits of that but not the totality of what we achieved in such a short time, and it's unlikely to be repeated.

We are proud of our history but we're not living in the past. We know the struggles we've faced over the last quarter of a century and because of that we have no sense of entitlement and we're certainly not deluded or taking anything for granted.

I doubt it, well at least the media speculation won't wain. I think Coops interview was basically saying BJ will be sold if they get the right bid, he wouldn't say he expects BJ to be part of Forest next season. I think that will just encourage more media speculation.
As to whether the speculation is true or not remains to be seen. I am sure the majority of PL clubs would have an interest in BJ but that doesn't mean they would buy him. As for Villa's interest, it looks like we are very close to signing Diaby and I just can't see us buying Diaby and BJ. I just don't think we would have that sort of budget but I could be wrong. Nor can I see Brentford spending 40m+ on a single player.
Which Cooper interview are you referring to here ?

I've just listened to the one he has given after today's friendly and you can see in his facial reaction and responses that he feels there is a lot of bollocks being aired on social media. All he said was he didn't mind the speculation because it shows we've got great players. Went on to talk about his injury and the next 2 weeks in Spain.
