According to today’s meeting they can’t start anything until they’ve built a new boat club and they haven’t even agreed a new location yet

They could build interim completion dates and penalties etc into the contract, at the risk of not having people go for it or having price increased to account for that risk.

I can see it taking longer as well, especially given the labour issues that are going on worldwide. Have other stadium jobs been done on schedule recently?

Japanese knotweed is no joke either, it's classed as a hazardous substance, if my memory serves and it takes years of treatment to eradicate, or burying it 5m underground. I think it can f*** up concrete.

Yes, and worse.

I've seen it split the front of house in two from it being in the driveway.

We had an outbreak on our allotment once. They taped off the area like a crimescene and men in white suits came, carefully dug it out and took it away.

I belive that if you get it, you're able to claim onn your building insurance.

Hard to believe a club this size has a shed of a main stand in these times. Should have been demolished 12 years ago under Doughty. Would be great to get some work done on the other stands aswell if possible, bigger concourses etc and obviously get rid of that ridiculous dip in the bridgeford stand.

Great news though , can’t wait for it.

I’m usually a traditionalist by nature and hate to see too much change but I will rejoice when they bring that down

Burying it doesn't work, it just grows and grows and grows. Burning it doesn't work either so I'm told.

Unfortunately there was a patch of it behind the shed when our house sale went through. Surveyor missed it. 2 summers in, using some seriously, seriously heavy duty chemicals and we have just about eradicated it, think we had about 3 tendrils appear this year.

The adjoining neighbour at the bottom allows me.to spray on his bit also cos quite frankly he doesn't give a shit, so it probably spread from there to begin with, but access isn't always possible so it's keeping a foothold on his side of the fence. Hoping to attack it there again this weekend though I think he has been trying to burn it this last week ffs. Horrible stuff

At least its not harmful though like that hogweed stuff which causes photosensitive burns. I think a squawky got pretty badly done by that recently.

Why were they talking about knotweed anyway? I didn't watch and don't think anyone really said on here...

The scousers built one stand, 20k capacity, on time and under budget. The one they're currently doing, adding 7k to an existing stand, just hit a milestone that should just ensure they bring to conclusion for 23/24 season which will be on time.

Spurs was only a few weeks late on a complete stadium.

Fulham's new stand is way behind though.

There are two patches local to the development. One behind the boat club and yhe other in an unknown location.

It came up in the planning meeting today as its including in the plan and dealing with properly is a condition of the permission.
