Let's assume for one minute that the club aren't sitting with their feet up basking in thr glory of promotion. Let's assume that those responsible understand the gaps we need to fill and the time we have to do it in. Let's also assume that business is being done behind closed doors rather than through the media.

I know it's hard as a supporter to not know what's going on but things will be happening, conversations will be taking place.

First port of call needs to be Cooper's contract. In tandem we need to be making a decision/getting answers from last season's loan players. Whether they stay or go has a big impact on the rest of our dealings.

We do however have a lot of work to do and expect our squad that kicks off at the beginning of August will still need a few tweaks. That will be the same for 90% of other clubs though with the transfer window running until thr beginning of Sept.

Let's give Dane & Co some trust here, I think they have earnt that.

f*** that shit

Let's slag the club off for not signing a load of players by the time the coach pulled out of Wembley & got on the North Circular

I don't care that the transfer window wasn't open

Just can't believe how some fans still want to hit the bottle and get depressed after the season we've just had.

After all the things we've put in place to get here. How it's never felt better.

Stop reading shit online. Please. Believe in your true feelings inside and trust in this team, manager and CEO. They are not like what we've had before. Yes, the reality of the Premier League challenge is upon us, but why are you panicking? Let's go into this with positivity and vigour.

Think some fans have to grow some balls and have some belief. It’s painful reading the negativity. Finally we have things in place off and on the pitch-the euphoria through out play offs n final was something I will never forget. We’ve got to grasp that momentum and attack the premier league not settle for relegation in June like sum of you are doing. Let’s see how squad looks in Aug.

If you run any business you don’t give every Tom, Dick and Harry a running commentary on who you’re trying to recruit. You do the business confidentially and then announce the new appointments once they’ve signed a contract and are about to start.
Isn't it just refreshing how things have changed recently , for those of us with a more patient persuasion we can afford to smile

It’s not acceptable. Murphy should be telling us fans who we are targeting, how much we are willing to pay and how the negotiations are going on an hourly basis.

As he hasn’t done that, I’m going to assume he has been sat in the pub playing dominoes for the last two weeks.

Not good enough for Nottingham Forest!

I don't think it's pessimistic to expect us to go down. We currently have a worse squad than we did at the bottom of the Championship and the gulf between the two divisions is vast, even vaster when you are a team who hasn't been there for two decades and you are 3 weeks behind on recruitment.

Of course we all hope we stay up. Of course we want to have fun in the Prem but my expectations are certainly that we will be back in the Championship but with a year of Premier League experience, a bigger wallet and a more talented bunch of players.

If we stay up, then I'll be equally as surprised and delighted and it would either be down to us being backed by 100s of million in transfer fees and additional wages, or by the sheer genius of Cooper.

I'm hoping our signings are all smart moves with resale value and not club busting wages.

Priority one is tying up Johnno to an extension
I would say its Priority 2 because Priority 1 should be getting Cooper tijd down...

The silence is deafening! (My favourite of the moany phrases when things aren't going the way folk on the internet imagine they should.)

I'm looking forward to next season and trust the club to do their best to bring in what we need - I really hope we get a few KLP and MGW style signings, and I'm hopeful Coppers work with our young players (here and previously with swans/England) will really help our chances, but it's going to be a competitive market and there's no way we will bring in all of our primary targets.

I look forward to seeing how we go about our business and expect us to do a mixture of players we know a bit about and many we don't (unless you're the football encyclopedia type).

Whether we'll have enough to do well is anyone's guess, and what well even is will vary person by person, but you e got to enjoy the ride and put trust in those who got us there - we are certainly light (after losing the loans) going into the season but there's a long way to go until a ball is kicked (longer still when the window closes) and it gives us a great chance to strengthen - not sure about Davis' price tag to goals? Find someone better. Zinc has question marks over his high level ability - see above!

What do we think about Lowe? Just read the local Sheffield rag trying to charge us £5m! Personally, I think he can do a job, there will be games where he struggles but over the season, investing the money we have into more crucial positions will be more important (down the middle of the pitch).

That said, £5m seems a bit steep for a lad that only cost them over £1m a year or so ago ... I'm hoping the club aren't held to ransom with this. If not, how do we feel about raiding next door for Lee Buchanan. Only have to offer them some to loose change

I like Lowe but he missed 20 games injured last season can't afford that this season and at £5m no chance.

What I've seen of Buchanan doesn't impress me either. I'd probably take him as backup at a push, although I still think Colback can fill that backup role.

I'd rather have neither to be honest. I have doubts as to whether either are good enough for the Premier League, and the money Sheffield United are asking for Lowe is ludicrous.

We can easily find better elsewhere.

Sheffield rag saying _more_ than the 5m they wanted previously - no thanks! Not sure how you accrue that much value when being out on a long term injury, unless it happens you're annoyed by a semi final defeat. In fairness he's probably worth more to them since he's better than Robinson, but there's better out there for less I think, and we'll be the only ones paying north of 2m so...

Wouldn't want Lowe or Buchanan.

We need better & I think Dane & co know that.

Buchanan would be worth picking up to loan out for development. Worth mentioning KLP played wing back on both sides in Hull's promotion season, albeit at at much lower standard. He's mustard though...

You'd imagine £15M ish might swing it too. That's a lot of cash to Hull

£10m with bonuses that raise it to £15m. Also, crucially, take it or leave it.

I really want to low-ball a champ club with an offer that is just on the cusp of low-ball AND making them sweaty.

What's the correct term for daddy-issues caused by the championship? Championship-issues?

I have Championship-issues.

I reckon hell be 20. Don't think wingback is his best position in all honesty - strikes me as a BJ type fir the opposite flank, if that could fit. He was level pegging with BJ at one point in terms of return, though didn't have the same hot streak at the back end. A real talent though. West ham are very keen apparently.

Also didn't have the same level of quality surrounding him or the coaching of Cooper.

For me he's a realistic target now and one with great potential. I'd be delighted with him. I'd offer £15M but £20M would still be good with a resale value likely increase

No chance on Lowe at 5m. Maybe 2m but even then that's pushing it considering it's double what they paid a year ago and he's been injured a lot.

He would have to be a back up as well.
Buchanan has looked shite when I've seen him but to be fair the entire Derby side has so it's a bit difficult to judge him based on that.

If the fee is nominal which I imagine it would be considering their finances then I'd be OK with it as a squad option to develop.

I'd certainly like him - the challenge would be (to some degree, it would probably just require a midfield tweak) to accommodate he and BJ in the same team, while retaining solidity at the back.

My acronym dream is KLP left, BJ right, a hard bastard down the middle (KD would fit the bill in the way he brings others into the game - with those two close by the goal issue with him is negated) with MGW in the advanced midfield role. Attack attack attack!

(We'd need a couple of positionally and defensively sound midfilders behind that, and possibly deeper but pacey wing backs than we had last year.)

Mr RayReardon

Jack Burkitt
I'd be very keen on Lewis Potter or Josh Bowler for that matter. But, we need to temper our expectations. £100m isn't much in la la land and, for example, the minute West Ham enter the bidding for someone like KLP we're f**ked. They only need one/two players so they can go all out. We need 5-10 players with a lower budget!

If we are to stay up, it'll rely on Cooper getting players other clubs won't look at to raise their game and a huge slab of luck. That said, if we could get KLP for £10-12m I'd be very happy with that deal.

We still need potentially 3 CMs and a striker alongside two wing backs. Given that we'll have to spend on quality midfielders and a striker, wing backs will have to be bought on a shoestring.

In an ideal world, we can look at Lowe and say, 'we need better'. I wouldn't disagree, but remembering our context is important. We need to target the best, less well known, players from the Championship. Ones where we have a unique knowledge of how good they are. The minute we start going to head to head with Premier League teams, expect players to regularly choose Crystal Palace and Wolves ahead of us.

From what I understand, AMN might well hold out for a 'bigger' rather than come to us, Henderson is a different situation as he'd be a loan and MGW, in all honesty, would almost certainly choose Wolves ahead of a move to Forest.

5m fro Lowe?

Bitches be trippin.
If Lowe was fit id happily pay 5 million for him. When he was fit for us last season he was quality one of our best players. However paying that much for a crock is an old Forest thing to do. I would leave him be and go and get someone else.
