If selling the crown jewels put Forest in a financially stronger position and precipitates a change in ownership, then I'm all for it.
All for League One and writing off the season four games in as well David? If selling the crown jewels put Forest in a financially stronger position and precipitates a change in ownership, then I'm all for it.

Get rid of Lansbury
& replace Britt with who?
We don't currently have an alternative and every viable guaranteed alternative I can think of would probably cost us around the same money we'd get for Britt, so I really see the point in trading in the tried & tested for an alternative model that's tried & tested elsewhere, but we're not 100% would work for us.
The only way I'd look to sell Britt is if someone offered far in excess of his market value, which they won't or if we were well stocked in that department & had a manager I'd trust to farm us a cheaper alternative from the leagues below & I don't think our current management team has enough experience of our league & lower leagues yet to achieve that.
As for Burke, at present we'd probably get £8m-£12m max, & this time next year he'll be £12m-£18m, & if we managed to luck our way into the top league £25m-£30m.
There is just no earthly point in giving up one of our best talents at a cut price.
I'd see it as bad business if we sold either at the moment & it put us in a financially stronger position by holding on to them.
They are appreciable assets.
Many moons ago when McGovern was the boo boy, I told someone who kept berating him to watch the space where McGovern would have been in the next game ( he was banned )and to his credit he came to me afterwards and said spot on. Massive holes where McGovern was always covering but were visible in his absence.
Same as Lansbury, he is probably our best midfielder and should be played in his best position at top of the diamond and attacking.
And if we keep selling the players who could turn us in to a top end championship (or lower end premiership) club, we'll be destined to remain an established lower end championship club indefinitely.Thing to remember is we are now an established lower end Championship. As much as I'd hate us to sell our best players, if bigger clubs come calling - there is only so much power we have now.
Whilst it may be gutting, this is why it's so important that we get the right people in behind the scenes to put a strong structure in place so we can rebound from losing players like Southampton do. That way we could continue to push forward and move ahead of many of the clubs who are circling our players like vultures.
Comparing Lansbury to McGovern.?? Now I've heard it all
And if we keep selling the players who could turn us in to a top end championship (or lower end premiership) club, we'll be destined to remain an established lower end championship club indefinitely.
If we are going to sell, let's at least take a hefty slice of the premiership billions that are sloshing about in the upper levels.
Bidding can start at £30 million if they really want.
And it can keep going to nearer 50 until we bang the hammer.
Or they can all f*** off.
My answer to the McGovern boo boys was similar to youres. Yoa can't see his influence on the team till he doesn't play.
Lansbury. You can't see any influence when he does. In ANY position.
Re Brit and Burke. If this new Greek bloke is taking over and is serious he should send a big fk off to the suitors
