Is it worth point out that Scheve was crap with us and crap with England but is having a great time with derby...just because he had a bad time at Bolton doesn't mean he will here? Does it??

- Pearce nearly got Man City into europe (when they were skint and shit)
- Davies got an appalling derby team promoted
- O'Driscoll, well, he was shit everywhere, ignore that one
- Cotterill is about to get Bristol promoted
- Calderwood, uhh, umm
- Meg.. actually let's stop there.

If you squint, and turn your head slighty, you can see a theme developing...

I think Freedman is a terrible appointment.

But I won't ever want him to fail to be able to prove that. I will always want him to win.

I want him to do well and I wish him every success and luck. I think he'll need the luck to be honest.

Thats the difference though aint it mate, some want the best for forest others just want to be proved right.

I really can't understand why the chairman hasn't taken time to think it over He's just dived in both feet.

Whether he is going to be or not , he needs the support of the fans now. Ridiculous to write him off even without managing us.

Can we all calm down a little and not turn this into another McLeish appointment. This appointment has come out of leftfield, it's a bit underwhelming but who knows how it's going to turn out. We scoffed at Derby when they hired McLaren.

I've just had to tell my dad who our new manager is and he let out an "OH NO!" I don't know if it's gallows humour but I couldn't stop laughing.

Dont try and lecture anybody on showing faith in an individual.

Freedman out.

In my mind he was recruited whilst Pearce was Forest Manager, thus aided and assisted the knive which stabbed Pearce between the shoulder blades, thus makes him an utter wanker before he sits in Pearces still warm seat.

Some thoughts of Bolton and Palace fans:

http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25723&start=200

"I thought I'd stop caring about Freedman when he left but I still really don't like him. I pity the team who he takes over at next but it's inevitable he'll get a few more good jobs because he'll live off this myth of what he accomplished at Palace, even though it doesn't stand up to scrutiny, and he'll keep getting jobs at a progressively lower level until he drops out of the sport. He's another Stuart Pearce, just not as lucky to get chances at as high a level.

When he's next in line to get a job, fans of that club will probably look at our opinion of him and if any of them are reading this in a few months time, my advice would be to keep your expectations very low. Don't expect good man management or tactics, and look forward to the day he's sacked."

"My God, how ridiculous is that?! I feel sorry for Forest fans. Freedman is the worst manager I've ever had the displeasure of watching on a regular basis, he's a joke, and not a huge improvement on the clueless Pearce. Terrible decision from them."

"Unbelievable. I expect there are some very underwhelmed Forest fans."

Palace:

"Right I'm off to out a few quid on Forest to be relegated this year"

"They've gone from a club legend, to Mr. 1-0. Wow."

"Forest just been renamed Nottingham Forest Nil"

"I thought the BBS could be vitriolic until I read the Forest fans forum. Not one message in support. A real tough job for Freedman and he has no such legend status at Forest to help his cause.
You do question the owner's thinking, but it's his money, let him spend it how he wants."

"Will be sacked by the end of the season. Terrible appointment."

Sorely missed by both clubs.....including one where he was a "legend".

Remember when that Bristol fan came on here and asked for opinions about Cotterill? We ripped him to pieces, and look at them now. Opposition fan comments are interesting, but ultimately pointless

Business is business. Freedman has to look out for number one and all managers do it.

Pearce would do the same if he could get anyone else to employ him.

Reminds me a bit of Calderwood, whom I liked.

You never know, stranger things and all that.

One less gobshite...
When I spoke to John McGovern last Thursday he said he hoped Pearce would be given until the end of the season.
I am certain he had no idea about this.

it did make we wonder when I read this

Dougie Freedman is the new #nffc manager. No one saw that coming...not even a lot of senior figures at the club, I understand.
