Douglas Alan „Dougie“ Freedman

This was always the problem with appointing a club legend like Pearce. The guy following him inevitably cops all the anger and disappointment of the broken dream.

It doesn't help that he was sacked for doing worse than Pearce.

Let's hope Dougie isn't reading these comments. Fans are acting like spoilt children- unbelievable. I'd love to hear the names of managers that fans think we ought to be attracting.

None, as we shouldnt have been in the market for a new manager anyway.

I knew it though, we were never going to attract anyone that was even vaguely decent. I thought we'd end with Keane or Ince, but even then Freedman actually seems worse.

This club does not know what it is doing

Is it worth point out that Scheve was crap with us and crap with England but is having a great time with derby...just because he had a bad time at Bolton doesn't mean he will here? Does it??

This will only work if he brings

Sir Alex Ferguson as his no.2.
Pep Guardiola as coach
Lev Yashin as Goalie coach
Dr Hilary Jones as Physio

We shouldn't be attracting any. We should be sticking with ones we had Maybe starting with SOD.

Who were we expecting then?
Would Chelsea not let their manager go?

Well, Jose was interested I hear, but his rather foxy physio didn't want to come back to Nottingham (she's a Uni of Nottingham grad).

So we missed out there.

Despite inevitable disappointment that Pearce isn't in charge anymore, we frankly can't play any worse than we did yesterday again.

We need five more wins to pretty much put relegation threat to bed. Freedman has an easy remit and a good squad of players.

I've already bought my ticket for Brighton but probably won't be spending anymore money on Forest this year.

I hate to break this to you....

But Lev Yashin passed away some time ago.

And Alex Ferguson is a c*nt.

Dougie scored against Derby in 1998 for us! I'm picking at a bone here re being positive.

So his past achievements aren't valid cus he had a shit season this season? Time to take the two stars off our badge then.
Stop man, you're fighting a lost cause. The people here are too stubborn right now. Try again tomorrow or something.

I really hope Freedman has a honeymoon run of matches because I feel we're more likely to be playing League 1 football than I did 3 hours ago.

Underwhelming but he gets a clean slate, just like Pearce, just like all the others. Hopefully he can turn us around.

Interesting to see some of the loudest advocates of giving Pearce time and giving him a fair shot are already slagging off the new man. Confirms everything I suspected basically.

Blimey, you go away for a few hours and it all blows up!

Gutted for Pearce, but I can't blame Fawaz for pulling the trigger. But this is exactly the kind of appointment we needed to avoid. We needed to modernise and get a European coach in. I can't see Freedman building much, but he's got my support as he's our manager.
