Where’s the bit where the manager
comes in and belts him over the head with a squash racket?
Could you imagine that now? Cooper deliberately late, keeping everyone waiting as he's been playing squash over the road. Brilliant.

i think surridge will get to play in the last 10-15 mins after awoniyi tires. Not sure where grabban fits in if he does sign a new contract. It only make sense if the contract is a transitional one for grabs to move to a coaching role - part player/coach.

Slightly concerned that Grabs might be more half man half biscuit now.

I recently watched a vid showing all our goals from last season and what struck me is how many important goals Grabban got in the middle of the season which were so key in getting us back up the table. Think it went a little bit unnoticed especially after Davis and Surridge were signed. I’m not saying he is up to the standard of the prem but if we can keep him fit he could still get a goal or two off the bench.

Why?

He got 1 injury last season and then had to come back too early as Keinan also got injured and Taylor was out on loan, so his injury hadn't fully revovered.

Grabbans generally never been that injury prone for us and next season he will likely be third or 4th choice.

Definitely

You forget how good he was this season until you watch it back. When others were brought in they took over after he was injured, but make no mistake his goals were carrying us early in Cooper's reign. All our strikers played a massive part this season, even the not so good ones like Taylor who had his moment against Bristol and gave us massive momentum/belief.

i suppose you can’t ignore that he got yet another year older, 34 years old. 35 in jan.

hope he’s the fourth choice not cuz i don’t rate him, although he’s never actually “done it” in the prem, he’ll be a great teacher for our current and future strikers.

We need someone to play in the League cup side...

Nonsense. You are forgetting injuries and fatigue. No top side plays with 2 senior strikers. Grabban will get 20 games as either sub or starter. At his age and at this level that's plenty...

Especially if we can combine it with the hand dance.
