I read on twitter their chairman pulled the plug at the '11th hour' after agreeing personal terms.

I read that too now. The WebChat was just before Tails went to a conference at the ground, so I guess that the information changed from the initial reply in the chat.

Carayol has signed for brighton now. The boro chairman pulled the plug on forest move and then loan him to brighton.

Brighton play Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford before the end of the season, maybe Boro see them as teams where any advantage they can influence for the opposition the better? We only play Watford that are a direct threat to them at the moment.

If, as seems to be being suggested in some posts, there is the strategic lending of players by Club A to Club B because Club B has to play Club C, then I think that it is further evidence that the loan system is corrupt and dysfunctional.
Clubs participating in such deals should be charged with bringing the game into (even more) disrepute and the F.A. should act to ban such loans.
If this leads to protests and litigation and is deemed impossible to police then a simpler solution would be to ban the lending of players.
The whole loan system seems to me to be wrong in principle and serves to enable rich clubs to buy up all the talent.
I think the players' best interests are not served by the loan system, and abuses by the likes of Watford in recent seasons conspire to make it a system that should be banned.

.

If this does happen how could it ever be proved? Boro could argue that they'd prefer Carayol to go to Brighton because he'll get more game time, what with Forest already having two outstanding wingers. Or maybe they think Brighton's set up is closer to theirs, or their manager has a similar philospohy, or a dozen other reasons.

More likely that Brighton are prepared to take him despite it being the initial stage of his comeback, but we, quite rightly, were'nt.

Even Karanka stated that it's too early for the player to take a valuable place on the 'Boro bench at such a crucial stage of their season.

The reason could be financial if Brighton are offering to pay more of his wages than we are permitted.

That's absolutely nothing to stop that. It's a farcical situation now.

The PL loans to the FL are probably worse. Teams don't get promoted without the help of loan players. Clubs who own the players get to choose where these players go. With the high number of loan players playing at Football League clubs, those that own the players are deciding the outcome of the Football League. gentlemen' agreements will be made left, right and centre.

Then you have Vitesse Arnhem dropping out of Champions League qualification contention. It's daft.

It's the end of a fair contest.

He was trialist for us in 2012 and he scored 3 goals. He currently plays for al alhi(well before this). Decent striker.
