The lad had a really good game yesterday and showed that he is up to scratch with the Championship, finally.

Really put in a good shift against Agustien and Jerome and I think that aslong as he maintains this form then he will keep his spot at RB. He was alot more vocal and got himself stuck in with a few very important challenges.

To be honest I think he was MOTM over Wes and Perchy..

However..

Im abit disappointed that many fans have failed to recognise how well he actually played considering the amount of stick that he has had so far this season. The more praise he gets the more confidence he will have, and hopefully the better performances he will give.

He did have a good game, but one game does not mean he is up to scratch for this league, he still sent too many hoof balls for my liking.

The pressure is on him to perform because the right back birth is vacant and is in need of filling on a permanent basis…. Perch maybe!

Whether of not Chambers can cut it at Centre Back is anyone’s guess?

I personally think this league is too much for him at the moment in time, and very few can argue that.

He explained in the programme that he had a hip issue right at the beginning of the season and couldn't fully sprint he believes this really affected his games and caused his poor performances.

I must confess I have seen a vast improvment in him recently. Against Palace, Derby and Brum he has let barely anything past him.

I personally still believe Perch is the best right back at the club however, I much prefer Perch in the middle and believe Chambers has shown this week he is more than capable of playing at right back.

I wouldn't say Chambers was MOTM though. I thought Heath, Perch, Morgan and Cohen were all better than him. Morgan fully deserved the award.

Easily his best game of the season yesterday.

He has a long long way go to persuade me that he isn't merely in the squad because he's Calderwood's blue eyed boy and because Forest failed to buy a proper right-back in the summer.

I think he'll play better and (hopefully) will grow in confidence now we have a better keeper who seems to command his area and is constantly talking to his defenders

Measured balls over the top for Tyson to run onto, are not hoofballs. Tyson got onto a lot of them or forced a defender to put it out for a throw. Nothing wrong with that and I vividly remember Liam Ridgewell hitting 4 or 5 completely aimless kicks into our half, nowhere near any of his team mates. That IS a hoofball.

Chambers is a decent player and still young. Remember, he's come from L2 football, into L1 and into the Championship. When your a defender, mistakes are more obvious than if you were say Garath McLeary were if you lose the ball in the opposition's half, it doesn't really matter too much. In my opinion, Chambers has had as many good games as he has had poor games and has been a scapegoat when the whole defence has underperformed, the midfield hasn't done their defensive duties and Calderwood hasn't had the right formation/personel to help the defensive.

I think Perch is still our best Right back but I think yesterday proved we are much better with Perch in the middle.

Chambers had a cracking game yesterday and didn't put a foot wrong. He's got a lot to prove after a poor start to the season, but hopefully the team can continue this good run of form and start scoring goals!

Chambers was excellent yesterday...he's got to keep it up if he wants to win over his critics though.

Sorry but the lad is a complete liability in defence. He had a better performance yesterday but is NOT a rightback and spends too much of his time out of position and making stupid tackles with his arms wrapped around opposition attackers, which foul or not, will be given as a free kick every day of the week!

He is unable to read games, and spends too much time moaning at linos to make up for his lack of ability and understanding of how to play games.

Come of it, I saw at least half a dozen of those "measured balls" find themselves out of play for a goal kick yesterday.

You’ve saw Ridgewell in one game mate, I’ve seen Chambers a hell of a lot more than that.

Made the scape goat, I beg to differ on that one, he has been tremendous at being woeful in many matches, some of HIS decision making has cost us points, and if not came very, very close.

Admittedly, Morgan, Wilson, Tyson and Smith have had their fare share of gaffs but Chambers sticks out like a saw thumb… Always blaming others, out of position, lacks composure, misplaced passes, and hoofing, yes HOOFING….

I do admire your commitment towards him, I’m sure he’ll take some comfort if he reads this thread… but the true fact remains, he is very average with a poor reading of the game thus far at right back.

I won't criticise the lad any further, he did have an ok game yesterday, and yes, he is learning, but I will say as we are fighting for points to stay in this division, his errors are going to be scrutinised more than ever.

We’ll await and see him play at Centre Back before judging.

If he plays like that for the rest of the season I will have no quarms at all him consistantly retaining his place.

He isn't good enough.

Northampton fans always said, "he's alright, but he's not as good as Chris Doig".

What else can I say?

There are managers that would have dropped Chambers permanently by now on the merit of his overall form this season.

Unfortunately I missed yesterdays game but both my Dad and brother have said how well Chambers acquitted himself. Who ever it is when a player has been struggling and seems to have turned the corner, thats fine by me.

One thing I always moan about Chambers is, his ability to move the ball on swiftly. In my opinion he is no comparison to Perch in that position who does seems to be a better far all round footballer.

Too many times he has to either kill the ball before playing it, or lingers on the ball whilst he picks his pass, slowing down the game, allowing himself to be closed down or at least boosting the chance of the opposition getting cover in place.

On BBC Nottingham yesterday he said he hasn't been good enough in some games. At least he had admitted he has been shit, Also he hasn't ducked out the way stood up and got on with it,Just hope it continues.

BTW are Chambers and MC Gugan gay?

Its seems they are attached at the hip,They seem to spend their life's together according to Chambers piece in the programme :D

He's one of our best defenders as far as I'm concerned.

In response to his apparent poor performances at right back this season I would agree that he has been caught out a few times but so have numerous others. After been given the right back spot last year, he made it his own and harldy put a foot wrong. Now this year he is playing better players he is always going to be learning that position still, from my point of view he is adapting to a higher level and doing a good job of it.

If he turns into Jose Bosingwa in the next few games then fine.

Most of the time i think chambers is more effective in the opposition penalty area than his own. He's got a lot to do to convince me he's a competent full back for this division.

The lad had lost his place, he's now playing for his place so we shall see much better things from him i reckon. After hearing his interview after the match too, he said he was carrying a knock, so should be interesting to see how he preforms now.

The guy has had an injury, he has played through it and admitted it has had an effect on his performances. He says "judge me now" and so, the season starts now..............

Fair enough, lets give him a chance..............you think some people on here want him to fail, and Forest to lose, just so they can say 'told you so"

I would prefer he now has a run of brilliant performances and Forest move on up to mid table. So go for it young lad, prove those doubters wrong.

I'm not wholly convinced that all the shortcomings we've seen over this season can be attributed to a knock, but to be fair, I'm sure Luke wouldn't want them to be either.

So, we might as well write off our first ten or so fixtures and give the team a fresh slate. The last three games have been positive results and long may it continue.

Spot on.

We struggled to adapt to this league, had a bad run of luck. Now we have taken 5 points from 3 very tricky games. We are right back in it and the seasons tarts from now as far as I am concerned.

Football fans have short memories. Chambers was a very active part of a defence that largely got us promoted in spite of our inability to score goals for large parts of last season.

On that basis alone, he along with Wilson, Morgan and Bennett deserves our patience in being given the time to adapt to this level.

Although, to me, it remains puzzling that Calderwood has dealt so harshly with some - Smith and to a degree, Wilson - yet holds such patience with others. Unless there are things going on which we don't know about...
