Would you have taken them going bust but spending 5 years winning every week and marching up the divisions or 5 years for them to get out of League One
I honestly think the league one scenario is probably worse.
Clowes doesn’t seem to have much of a masterplan nor the money to cover over bad decisions, not sure they will be challenging our position for a while yet

Agreed, I'm quite enjoying it as the slow reality dawns on them one by one that their stop at this new level isn't a temporary stay.
Phoenix clubs tend to return to their previous standing soon enough and enjoy the ride getting there.
If they'd have gone bust it wouldn't have been them climbing up the league would it.? It would have been Derby Phoenix or something

I think the talk was they would have started at National League South level or the National League, whether that’s true or not I don’t know - but if it was the current scenario is better than that.

There is no precedent for reforming that high up. Probably would have been one of the Northern Div One regional leagues. They still would have flown up through them.

Yep, Derby fans seemed convinced they'd be allowed to start higher because they're Derby. But all existing precedent would have them start in the 9th tier like everyone else has had to.
