Best Collymore goal

I've been trying to decide which of his goals is my favourite but I can't pick between 1. His run from the half way line against Sunderland at Roker Park (Stanleyyyy...there's only one Stanley, etc etc ) 2. His similar goal at Molineux against Wolves or, 3. His wonder strike from outside the corner of the penalty area at Peterborough. All away goals of course which is weird cos he scored plenty at home

More great away goals because he was allowed more space to run at them. More opportunity to pick up the ball on the halfway and run straight at the defence, which is the start of the classic Collymore type of goal.

At home he'd have to run through two banks of shithouse from there.

I think the order on Mase's vid is pretty bang on, but my own personal faves are the two against Man U. Both coincided with significantly good times in my personal life, and also really stamped our authority back on the Prem.

No f***er expected us to do so well against them at home, but that equalizer was bliss. But away was the "reality's gonna hit home now game", and we rammed that right down their's & everyone else's throats.

1994 was an amazing year all round, truly amazing.

I liked the two where he turned the centre backs the best.

I'm sure he scored some kind of scissor/over head kick for us?

What’s amazing (apart from the goals obvs) on that highlights reel is how calm the commentators are. Utd concede their first goal at home all season, or the promotion goal- nowadays they’d be screeching about it as if it defied the laws of nature. In fact they do that now every time a team scores against one of the bigger clubs, let alone for special goals like that.

I remember when Stan first arrived at Forest, things didn't go too well at the beginning, didn't take long for folk to get on his back. Little did they know eh?

Some forget he came from Southend, at a lower level. Still though, there were flashes of a very good player, and when it clicked, it certainly clicked with a pretty Big Bang.

Still, IMHO, the most naturally-gifted footballer I’ve seen playing for Forest.

He'd be worth close to £100m nowadays!

Stan The Man

He would, you know. Someone like Man City would be throwing silly money at him.

That one against Wimbledon was pretty special wasn't it?

The best thing about that goal is the audible sense of anticipation when he gets the ball.

When you consider that he's 70 yards from goal, facing the wrong way and has about 8 defenders in his way. It's pretty special.

Even Andy Gray on comm's knows he's witnessing something different.

Remember reading during the match fixing investigation that the most ever won on betting on a single Premier League game at that time, was won on that match.

That match definitely came up in the news when that stuff hit the news. Was never able to watch those goals back and forget that afterwards.
