England midfielder David Beckham was involved in another confrontation with a fan during Los Angeles Galaxy's match on Saturday.

Beckham, 34, exchanged words with a man in an England shirt during the Galaxy's 1-1 draw with the Kansas City Wizards.

Beckham, who was fined following a clash with a fan last week, claimed the spectator insulted his wife Victoria.

"He shouldn't actually be wearing that shirt because what he was saying about my wife was a disgrace," he said.

The former England skipper was fined $1000 (£600) by Major League Soccer last Friday following a confrontation with fans during a recent friendly against AC Milan.

Beckham, who missed a part of the Major League Soccer season earlier this year when he joined the Italian giants on loan, was booed by a section of the home crowd during the game.

Some guy on the news this morning made a valid point, wondering why Beckham is reacting to the abuse now? Some of the stick he took after France '98 was ferocious but, other than a one finger salute to England fans at Euro 2000, he dealt with it all pretty well. Maybe he just wants a fast-track out of LA

I'd say that's probably accurate.

That and at 34 in a strange land, he probably don't give a bollocks.

After WC98, he still had to develop his reputation in England and stay in the public eye for a decade or so. Taking stick badly would have made his playing career even more difficult and definitely reduced the 'Beckham brand's' value.

If the fine for insulting the spectators is only 600 quid, who can blame him. And unlike this country, most of the fans over there will be fat lardbuckets, they'll never catch him, even now he has lost all his pace!

600 ? He should do a Cantona and kung-fu his ass for 1k !

Galaxy didn't even stump up much for the transfer, you can't blame him for wanting to play at the top for as long as possible. I get a feeling Victoria's behind him being and staying there tbh !

If he really wanted to get at them he should start calling it FOOTBALL again, not f***ing soccer ! Yanks hate the idea they didn't create something hehe

Surely if this happened over here, the fan would of got some sort of ban/fine for jumping on the pitch and approaching Beckham?

One of the fans who approached Beckham the other night (and was apprehended by security) received a lifetime ban from the "Home Depot Arena", irrespective of what was in there, be it a concert, NFL, soccer (sic) or whatever.

As the guy before me said, he was.

Beckham is being an ass and reacting because he clearly doesn't give a shit. The fans are right to get on his back if he clearly doesn't give a shit. Everyone goes on about what a great pro he is, but that's utter bollocks. He's a corporate frig puppet and a classless football mercenary.

And who gives a f*** if they call it soccer. We invented the term!?

Face it. Becks is one on the most gifted passerrs of the football in the English game for years ! The corporate crap comes in when Victoria was introduced. Anyone who believes such crap needs shooting. Who would relinquish their captaincy yet continue to offer their support for England and services when players like Carragher have a mardy when they aren't picked.

I couldnt give a toss who invented it, It's known world wide as football, I cant see the English shortening a word that makes nearly no sense when the yanks do it on a regular basis ! Day in day out ! Over the years he has been a prize example how to handle pressure. The fact that seems to of escaped everyones mind is that maybe the fan riled becks because he was wearing an England shirt and he thought he was english ? As a player as proud to pull on the 3 lions as Psycho I do feel he would find it odd the one odd fan in an England shoirt giving him the shit he got 10 years ago ! Do me a favour and don't dismiss peoples views because they dont agree with you. ou ain't that special !

Agreed. The Galaxy fanbase and 'Old Spice' definitely deserve each other.

I'm sorry but if someone is saying vile things about your wife would you not react badly? Zizu flipped when that italian (cant remember his name) called his mum a terrorist whore (allegedly) and i would do the exact same. Just because he is famous and 'they pay his wages' doesn't give them the right to say what they want!!!!!
