I’m not writing him off but there’s nothing to suggest he’d be worth bringing in here.

If he hadn’t been sold by Forest, do you think anyone would be asking if it was worth bidding for a 20 year old winger who has spent last season loaned out by a second division Spanish team, when Mighten is younger and Johnson is the same age?

He might still turn out to be great, but we had their pants down at 8m, so let’s leave it at that. I don’t see Benfica in any rush to give us any of our 13m back for Carvalho.

Because he's from Nottingham and was an under 19 international when he was here, and if he's going for a loan/price Ipswich can pay then yes I think we should be looking at him.

The actual question is, for what we can afford to pay is there better out there? We're skint and being around familiar faces again might bring back his confidence.

We have better already in Mighten, Lolley and Johnson, so I don’t see what Appiah would add to that, just because he’s from Nottingham.

Gary Brazil will know him better than anyone, so the fact we (nor any other Championship teams) are not linked with him probably says more than any debate on a forum.

We need one quality addition out wide in my opinion, and a kid who was loaned from Almeria to Lugo last season, and has 1 career league goal, is not it.

If the price was right I would bring him back, still extremely young and could grow into a much better player at Forest, we would then probably make a profit again by selling in a few years.

Or, two of the brightest talents outside the Premier League, our 2019 player of the year and hopefully a good addition.

I don’t know how many players some people are expecting us to sign, but Hughton won’t have a squad of 3 players for every position and he will have to (quite rightly) use our young players under contract.
