My 2p worth:

At home vs Luton we are ahead and reasonably comfortable. Decide it’s a good idea to drop deeper and deeper bringing on more defenders. Even though Luton have a single MO of lumping the ball in the box with corners and set pieces and battling for the 2nd ball. Result - throw away l lead

Away. Do exactly the same and get the same result

Newly found entitled mindset. It's going nothing to do with being entitled. We strengthened the team and brought in elanga, CHO and sangare amongst others since last season so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit more from the team than what we are getting performance wise.
Football doesn’t automatically work that way. It was entitlement which got Cooper sacked, which further added instability. We may have strengthened, but with these individual players, one thing Forest haven’t been able to do both Prem seasons, is build a “team”, we stayed up last year on sheer will and home crowd momentum.

Now that's a Saturday. Cheers for the input all

The Poles brew a cracking beer. My current beer of choice is Tyskie after having it from the tap in Warsaw, amber nectar 🍺
If you haven't tried the Honey Perla I highly recommend it

I'm hoping that we finish 17th this season, and stop up. Will snap your hand off for that, but it's not the expected progression that we expected after last season.

Not losing to Luton? Yeah, its a positive result but we should be so much better than that. We have £30 million players in our side, they didn't. We have PL experience, they don't.

We just don't seem to have fire in our bellies, no cohesion and at times, no plan. On the field, we are struggling. Off the field, we are a mess.

I just pray that we don't have to go to Burnley and have to get a result to stay up. If we did, I would be up for the fight, I just don't think that our players would be.

Things may look different tomorrow. A bit more positive maybe, but then events Monday will come and kick us in the nuts.

Replace the phrase "missing the target" with the phrase "not beating the first defender off a corner" and Cloughie called it right.

Replace"missing the target " with the phrase "persisting with Morgan Gibbs-White on set-pieces" and Cloughie called it right again.

Entitled?

I think it's more down to complete and utter f***ing frustration. Here's a few reasons...

- Nothing has been learnt about set pieces, whether its defending or attacking them. We are in the elite league and we are still no closer to even being remotely close to the same standards set by the rest of the league on this. We hired a coach for this and then chose not to use him and then continued in the same vein.. the f*** is that about?

- Every time we've had an attacking mindset in games we've gotten more from games, yet we seem to get more and more defensive and get even less. Shutting up shop when we had Luton on the ropes? Masterstroke that. I did not go into that game expecting us to win, we all knew we needed to though. But to have the game in our grasp and just surrender it is just frustrating and sad.

- Recruitment, you can tell which ones have been done by the staff we employ to find us decent players, they may not work out straight away but they come good, and the ones our owners are making? Why are they even signing people?

- Lack of professionalism off the pitch.. no water, no plans, lack of any kind of coherent strategy to improve anything.

It's not entitlement, its the f***ing basics.
Great post, exactly as I said earlier. When we've gone toe to toe and played higher up the pitch we've been way better.

When we sit off we struggle as the weakest part of the team is the midfield pairing, we don't have a single Premier league quality player who's capable of dictating the game for us. To much distance from the back line to the top end just sees us exposed, pushing up the back line and being more positive condenses the pitch and means the midfield pairing is less exposed.

On the set piece issue, I am as totally frustrated with gibbs white taking them as everyone and he needs to come off them. But even he gets the odd decent delivery into the box, as big of an issue is a lack of creative movement in the box and a genuine desire to get on the end of crosses. We never win the first header, and that surely goes against the law of averages, and just says to me the players aren't busting a gut and putting their bodies on the line to get a head on the ball come what may, and that is an issue at both ends of the pitch. Try a short corner, a trick play, anything but the inevitable crap we continue to serve up.

If MGW had Lewis's ball striking ability he would be an elite level player. Sadly he doesn't.
I think he does strike the ball well but he clearly needs to adjust his muscle memory to hit it a bit harder than he currently does because he consistently hits that first man.

There's my point. At no point last season was anyone saying we should be walking over teams. That newly found entitled mindset.

We haven't once been in the bottom three this season.

Entitled? Cheeky prick.

Nobody is saying we should be walking over teams this season. Just that we should be relatively comfortable given our outlay, improvements & the relative quality of the bottom 3 compared to last season.

It's not rocket science lad.

I agree but by me saying I expect a bit more from this group of players doesn't mean I,m entitled. Today's performance was poor against a Luton team that are ravaged by injuries and have played 3 games in a week. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit better. For a team in our position I can't understand why we are not playing with intensity and effort. Luton looked like they wanted it more than we did.

I disagree that it was entitlement that got cooper sacked. There was a whole load of factors that contributed to cooper going but fans expecting a bit of effort wasn't one of them

Yes. but that was because Cooper didn't have a clue.

We're much better now.

I'm not sating everyone's entitled, so no need to resort to insults!

But some people have been saying precisely that we should be walking over teams like Luton.

If our entire fanbase is going into games thinking “we should smash Luton”, then the players are gonna be like that too, and it is a recipe for disaster, same as last week, for some reason the fanbase had decided we should smash Brighton who are 8th.
It doesn’t matter how much money we’ve spend, the league doesn’t lie at this point, and we are currently the 4th worst team in the league, we’ve just gotta hope we can improve.

Apparently if you want or even hesven forbid, expect more you're Entitled, apparently. It's bollocks.

Cooper wasn't sacked because of Entitlement. He was sacked cos he didn't get on with his boss and then lost loads of games whilst looking bereft of ideas. Not a surprise really.

Nuno will be in the shit soon too, that's modern football for you.

Entitled is probably the wrong word, thinking we’re better than we are, is probably more apt

Apologies for the insult.

Emotions running high & all that.

I think entitled was perhaps the wrong term to use in your post though. Cuz that we ain't.

There are some real problems around the side and the club in general that fans would like to see improve

Does that make them "entitled"? Answers on a postcard

My biggest frustration is with the shocking amount of points we've dropped from winning positions; I think that's twenty points dropped now, if we'd hung on to even half of those we'd be home and dry even with a points deduction

Twenty one, apparently.

Which is shit.

Really disappointed again.

Today we had the chance to further demoralise our direct competition and also gain a 6 point cushion ahead of deductions. Instead we have thrown them a lifeline, pulled them out of the quicksand and given them back their confidence - what a disaster..... thanks Nuno
