And for those calling for his head, who do you get in?

Forest‘s squad is a mess. Any coach will struggle to get any consistency out of this lot.

Agreed - I think the situation behind the scenes with ‘over’ signing players didn’t help Cooper and now Nuno is running into the exact same problems. I’m not calling for Nuno to be sacked, but he was brought in because a lot of fan’s thought we should be pushing for a mid table spot and I can see Marinakis getting twitchy

His sides often go on streaks whether that be unbeaten or winless. The good news is that wins come in groups, with lots of back to back wins, Hopefully Luton is the start.

18/19:
7th - 57 points - 16W 9D 13L
Won 3 in a row 3 times and also had an unbeaten run of 6 with 4 wins and 2 draws.
Strangely seemed to not perform well against the dross in the league. 2 of Huddersfield's 3 wins that season came against Wolves.
The season also Included a run of 5 losses in 6 games, 2 of those against relegated Cardiff & Huddersfield.

19/20:
7th - 59 points - 15W 14D 9L
2 unbeaten runs of 11 & 8 games, with a total of 10 wins and 9 draws.
However the season started with just 2 wins from the first 11 games, further showing evidence that his teams seem to be prone to streaks good or bad.

20/21:
13th - 45 points - 12W 9D 17L
Wolves only scored 36 league goals that season, which also included a run of 2 wins in 14 games.

I think we are currently just 1 win from 11, so hopefully we are due to turn a corner.

He's made some gambles in team selections the last 2 away games and they've not come off. Fair enough.

I'd only sack him if it's true he's fobbed off the set piece coach for his own coaches. Because our set piece play somehow has gotten worse since Cooper and that's saying something

Should have all of the squad available now, need to start games in a dominant fashion, we have too many mistakes in us to keep it tight and hope to nick one. Sitting back just invites the other team on and gives them confidence especially when your counter attacking threat isn't working either.

Where has the Nuno that played two wingers and went at it Newcastle gone? The team selection today was straight out of the Cooper playbook, defend, hang on and hope for the breakaway goal. Didn't work for Cooper, not going to for Nuno.
If we start with the same low energy next week, we will lose.

Didn’t really understand what we were trying to do today to be honest.

First 10 we’re actually ok.

Then it was a mess. Gave away another terrible goal. Missed a couple of decent chances. Struggled to get anything going second half.

Would rather we just stuck to playing our best team and looking more threatening going forward.

He's not got an easy job on his hands, but today's starting line-up was....again....bizarre, and asking for trouble.

Wants f***ing for demoting Mangala to a sellable player. If we were prepared to buy Akpom for £16m, we could have hung on to Mangala and sold someone worse for less.
Thing is, Alf, we had no choice but to sell Mangala because we spent so much on Sangare. We cause our own problems.

Marinakis loves an expensive-but-wank designer player! :ROFLMAO:
Bit unfair on Sangare there Alf. There’s a player there. He’s been unlucky with injuries and the AfCon interrupting his opportunities to have a run of games and get accustomed to this league.
Wasn’t he also the player that Cooper was desperate for all summer?

Hints of Carvalho in there too mind 😁

And we all know Coops is no recruiter. Never has been.

Wind the clock back 12 months and substitute sangare for mangala - same comments. Players take time to settle and need a clear run. What we can’t do is sell sangare once he’s bedded in like we have mangala.
Well we'll have to sell someone when we spend money on 20 more players in the summer in a quest for instant success under the pretense of "showing ambition"

Really disagree with Nunos post match comments, plenty of fight, dominated most of the game etc.

Thought we showed absolutely no fight at all. Did we put any pressure on them at all in the last 20 minutes and injury time? Obviously the refereeing decision was annoying but feel we are just using that as an excuse most weeks without actually looking at our own performance. Pretty worried, Luton next weekend is now our biggest game of the season and personally don’t think this team has the stomach for it

I'm starting to think Nuno is holding back what is clearly a mid-table team.

Bin VAR!
should have finished with 10 men after Jakub Moder sunk his studs into the ankle of Neco Williams in the second half. Referee Michael Salisbury showed only a yellow card for the nasty challenge, however, with VAR Craig Pawson failing to correct his colleague’s error in judgement.

Andrew Omobamidele’s own goal made sure Brighton secured the win. It left Forest wallowing in 17th as Espirito Santo channelled his inner Mario Balotelli in the aftermath, asking ‘why always us?’ as he used his press conference to say Howard Webb and the PGMOL can shove their apologies

section from the Mail but sounds like he’s had a right go.

I'm not calling for his head as its a bit premature and he was dealt a crap hand to begin with. But he started positive and has regressed to some very poor selections but to be fair, there have been some abysmal referee decisions that have cost him results. All this said, WTF are his coaching staff doing ....?

They seem to be blundering around like a bunch Fcuktards.

I would expect 2 wins in the next 3 games or he should go.

Who should replace him - no one. Leave it to Steven Reid until the season has concluded.

He has the talent but my god some people need their office doors kicking off the hinges and a rocket up their arse.

Sangare gets unfair stick due to his price tag.

Sangare & Danilo played in that stunning display v Newcastle. Unpopular opinion but I'd 100% go back to that & let them build a partnership.

I'd also bring in Boly for Omo straight away and bring Aina in at LB when he's fit.

No chance we can play 2 young lads v Luton away. They'll get bullied.

Ideally, March is when you depend on partnerships you've spent the past months/years building.

Actually building partnerships in March is what they refer to as "March Madness."
