I do not agree. All the signs are that we will finish mid table. GK is a problem but January will address it. We have the defenders (Aina, Niakhate, Felipe, Boly, Toffolo) however we may need to get the wise old heads together at centre half and pull (I know, I know) Murillo out for a while to steady the ship.

Yates is back and that means we have a leader again and all of the battling qualities that come with him. And we've got three top goalscorers with Wood and Elanga now equalling Taiwo's haul of four premiership goals. Goals breed confidence and there's quite a few more goals to come from that pair before the end of the season. And for all those yearning for Brenan, Elanga's four goals and three assists better BJ's total at the same time last year.

And given who our owner is, new players will almost certainly be incoming in January. So, adding all these things together, I think things are not half as dark as they may currently seem.

Merry Christmas!
Glad to see you've started the X-Mass Eve celebrations early! Sink a few for me!

Rob Jones also cost us at Man United by giving Rashford that dodgy penalty , the guy is either bent or just not up to the job
You see the United ones were 50/50 it was soft but I understand it. I feel no way near the same amount of injustice I do for the Boly one.

I think the most I have felt similar was during lamouchi where I think it was West Brom when the player dived in the box.

The more I think of cheating footballers the more I want VAR to do. My Blackburn mate asked me if I missed the championship because of not having VAR. However I remember the lamouchi season where refs cost us like 15 points. Sometimes they don’t equal during a season as well. If VAR was allowed to intervene there would be no way in hell that second yellow would be allowed.

You want VAR to do more? F me, of all your bizarre opinions that's one of the worst.

I'll have what he's having please.

I'd bite your hands off for 17th right now.

Anyone still thinking we will finish mid table must be drunk. We're half way through the season with 14 points. We'd need 30-35 points from the second half of the season to finish mid table, more than 1.5PPG.

Ain't happening even with miraculous improvement which is just as unlikely.

I'm not sure Whitman's aspirations should be so readily mocked - it feels a bit like we are belittling the achievements that went before him, if we start to hold Nuno to a lesser standard.

One thing Marinakis will do for the fan base is make us realize we should expect nothing but the best - and f*ck it- he's right!!

So I'm on board - Mid Table finish for me too please!

You may not agree with it that’s fine but bizzare? How dare I want VAR to stop someone getting a blatant yellow card. As I said VAR wasn’t the issue there. The root cause of this is petulant cheating players. The diving was getting unbearable before VAR.

Totally agree … we’re in big trouble. That’s why yesterday is so frustrating. That’s 3 points that the officials have stolen from us.

It's worrying that all of the bottom three gained ground on us yesterday.
This January transfer window is going to be huge. We don't need loads of players, but the ones we get need to be ones who will improve the starting 11. We need quality not quantity. If we fail in this, we're going down.

I've woken up filled with optimism this morning. If the referee hadn't been a complete mess yesterday we would have got at least a point and probably all three. Even with ten men we gave a good performance against a decent side. Nuno has already transformed Wood and has got us playing more positively than we have all season. He has been brought in with enough time and a transfer window next month to sort us out. Get rid of some chaff bring in one or two quality additions, maybe a keeper, and we'll be ok. Merry Christmas to all of my fellow Reds

Thanks Whitman. You disagreeing is certainly reassuring. And believe me, I hope you’re right and I’m wrong.

I actually cannot believe Turner plays ahead of Horvath for the yanks. Just from watching the 2 although Horvath is completely uninspiring he at least looked very solid last year in the champ. You see if we go down I wouldn’t even want Turner in the championship.

What I will say is and I don’t want to be blowing smoke up me bum but I did say before any of this that 4-2-3-1 is the way to go with the balance of our squad. Nuno for whatever reason wanted to put divok out wide god knows. However it suits so much better. Chris Wood looks far better with people around him. You stick sangare in ahead of Yates get a new keeper and a winger and we will look much better. In this formation dare I say we may not need another striker 👀👀👀 Just a couple of quality wingers/inside forwards. The centre backs need sorting one way or the other either coaching or new players.

I know, as I wrote it I thought what a downer post this is !!

I think someone needs a hug.

If it helps @MC Plantpot I asked ChatGPT to write an uplifting rap about you and NFFC and this is what it came up with:

(Verse 1)
Yo, gather 'round, let me spin a tale so neat,
'Bout MC Plantpot, sproutin' beats to the beat.
From the Forest of Nottingham, where dreams take flight,
He grew with roots of rhythm, pure dynamite.

Representin' the green, just like the Forest's crest,
Plantin' rhymes so fresh, puttin' doubts to rest.
In this concrete jungle, he's a flourishing vine,
With lyrics so fertile, they blossom and shine.

(Chorus)
MC Plantpot, in the spotlight's glow,
Nottingham Forest, where legends grow.
Roots deep in music, branches to the sky,
His rap game's fire, reaching oh so high.

(Verse 2)
In the heart of the city, where the legends play,
MC Plantpot's rhymes bloom day by day.
Like Forest's history, rich with glory untold,
His verses unfold, a story to behold.

From the Trent's flowing waters to the mic he grips tight,
Spittin' words of hope, pure delight in the night.
In Sherwood's spirit, he finds his strength and flair,
Craftin' verses so tight, makin' haters beware.

(Chorus)
MC Plantpot, in the spotlight's glow,
Nottingham Forest, where legends grow.
Roots deep in music, branches to the sky,
His rap game's fire, reaching oh so high.

(Bridge)
In the land of Robin Hood, he's the lyrical king,
With beats that make your soul dance and sing.
From the City Ground to every corner street,
MC Plantpot's rhymes, a poetic feat.

(Outro)
So here's to the Forest and MC Plantpot's might,
In this rap game, they both shine so bright.
Wherever they roam, whatever the quest,
Nottingham's spirit, in them, will forever invest.

Robert Ref Jones has a page on Wikipedia and even gets criticism on there. He's flippin useless. I mispelt flippin.
(Verse 1)
Yo, check the scene, it's a football theme,
Referee Robert Jones causing a bad dream.
Sent off Boly from Forest's crew,
But watch out, he'll regret what he'll brew.

Boly's red was all wrong, an unjust call,
But Forest ain't folding, they'll stand tall.
Jones might think he's got control,
But Forest's fire gonna light up the goal.

(Chorus)
Referee Jones, what's with your sight?
Boly's gone, but Forest's gonna take flight.
Rise up, Forest, show 'em what's true,
Jones can't stop the victory, that's overdue.

(Verse 2)
Jones in the middle, making a mess,
But Forest ain't stressed, they'll impress.
Boly's exit won't dim their fire,
They'll play hard, take it even higher.

Injustice fuels the Forest roar,
Jones' bad calls won't matter anymore.
Watch 'em climb, watch 'em soar,
Forest's gonna leave Jones on the floor.

(Chorus)
Referee Jones, what's with your sight?
Boly's gone, but Forest's gonna take flight.
Rise up, Forest, show 'em what's true,
Jones can't stop the victory, that's overdue.

(Bridge)
Jones may blow that whistle loud,
But Forest's resolve, it's unbowed.
Watch 'em play, watch 'em slay,
Victory's theirs at the end of the day.

(Chorus)
Referee Jones, what's with your sight?
Boly's gone, but Forest's gonna take flight.
Rise up, Forest, show 'em what's true,
Jones can't stop the victory, that's overdue.

(Yeah!)

Thought Origi looked ok until he was unlucky to be the sacrifice. Nice little through ball to Elanga for that early chance.

Whilst I'm not sure about the mid table bit, I agree with the rest - I'm undecided on Niakhate's inclusion in the decent defenders list, he wasn't blameless yesterday.

Elanga has stepped up and Wood looked a lot better today.

The defence and keeper need sorting sharpish though.

Having slept on it, I am still really annoyed by that red card for Boly. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen and I hope the referees association/PGMOL whoever is overseeing the f uckers these days throw the book at him. Alternatively an apology might be a gesture, at the very least. He got it wrong. Also VAR should he awarded us a penalty. Two awful decisions that cost us.

I'm also annoyed we just allowed Bournemouth to cross balls into the box at leisure and Solanke to get free headers. FFS. I can see Nuno ditching all our centre backs and bringing his own men in. They have all been useless at different times this season.

Also, I wouldn't have a problem never seeing Divock Origi play for us again. Eugene Dadi had a better first touch.

Apart from the above I was pleased with the effort, but we are going to need more quality at the back and upfront if we're going to stay up.
