The legendary Grenville Morris in the centre of the middle-row, sans moustache, unless I'm mistaken?

You might be right, there!

Forest should - as I have repeatedly said - make more of the memory of players like him and S. W. Widdowson.

As Duncan says above-the incident you are referring to was at Leeds in the FA Cup 4th Round in 1968.
Jim Baxter punched a Leeds player and conceded a penalty but wasn’t sent off-this resulted in Forest losing the
tie 2-1.
As an aside,I remember the ‘Evening Post’ headline on the Friday night prior to the game was ‘Win this, win
the Cup’-it’s always the hope that kills you!

I was at that match and I thought Baxter decked Clarke in the area after Clarke spat in his face to make sure he reacted, but it was a long time ago.

Given that there used to be an official team/squad photo at the start of every season for well over 100-years (wartime aside, obviously), when was the last time the club produced one?

As far as I've seen, the most recent previous one was at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Anyone else think Omobamidele looks like the younger insurance brother from Bad Sisters? He's even Irish!

Joe Mercer’s dad back row next to keeper. Died following gas attack WW1
(Sorry just seen this)

Joe Mercer Snr played for Tranmere in 1921-22. What you said seemed to imply he died in the war rather than that he died in 1927 as a consequence of being gassed in WWI.

He was shot in the head, leg and shoulder in the war and was captured by the Germans in 1917. He returned home in 1919.

I remember a home game v Leeds where out of the corner of my eye I saw something happening off the ball - when I looked, Bremner was on the ground and Barnwell was walking away as if butter wouldn't melt.

A few minutes later Bremner kicked Grummitt in the head and was sent off. I didn't see the aftermath reported in one of the papers, where the reporter felt some action should have been taken against Forest players who surrounded Bremner as he lay on the ground and kicked him.

I don't see a problem.

Sammy Chapman certainly didn’t see a problem when he took out Mick Jones behind the referee‘s back at the
City Ground in 1971.
Alas-the linesman spotted it and Sammy headed for an early bath.

Sammy's sending off was the first dismissal of a Forest player in the league since 1939 when George Pritty, along with Millwall's J. R. Smith were both sent off for fighting in a second division game which Forest won 8-0.

There were other Forest player sent off between those two though as Horace Gager was sent off in 1949 in a friendly against Osnabrück, Frank Wignall was sent off in the Fairs Cup against Eintrach Frankfurt in the Fairs Cup in 1967 and in 1969, Sammy was sent off in a League Cup match against Barrow.
