I'm happy for Leeds to have LOB on loan for a year for free, if they sign Shelvey permanently.

Getting that prick off our books is more important IMO.

Nixon does have some legit sources so that would make sense. I imagine it will have an option.
He does, and I think this deal is probably happening. Though I can't actually see it first hand because his Twitter is locked down and obviously I'm not going to his Patreon.

Think we'll probably hold out for a better deal than the straight loan that's being rumoured with Boro. Still a few days left of the window yet.

Yeah if it’s a straight loan I reckon it’ll happen late, no need to rush it through if there’s a chance of us getting some cash back from someone else.

I occasionally know things when it comes to Boro and I can definitely confirm that discussions have taken place and they want him, ideally for a similar deal to what Blackburn had agreed.

I’m sure there are ongoing discussions with other clubs but selfishly I’d like him at Boro.

I genuinely thought he'd be a decent signing for us and able to step-up to this level, but I seriously underestimated the general PL standard at that time, and 12-months-on, the evidence shows that Lewis sadly falls a bit short of it.

I think Boro will be a good move for him, and us too if we can recover a fair amount of the fee he cost us.

Thought we signed him on a long term contract, at least 2026, so plays really well in the Championship, in the “shop window”, and we sell in January to promotion chasing team or next summer for good money.
That's my thinking with a lot of these loans. It also helps with amortisation.

Sell in 23/24 = paid 8m in 22/23, amortisation left is 6m...sell for 8m (?) only 2m profit this FY (+ wages).

Or

Loan in 23/24 = re-coup wages.
Sell in 24/25 = paid 8m in 22/23, amortisation left is 4m...sell for 10m (hopefully more if he has a good season) profit is 6m in FY 24/25 (+ wages).

You have to write off the intangible asset value at the point of sale as well remember which is higher this season than next.

If you want to take more profit next year on the sale you take more cost this year.

That’s the ideal time to sell.
Boro should be getting twitchy after an iffy start to the season though so we should squeeze these for a decent deal.

LOB at champ level is a technically gifted player and Boro will reap rewards quickly. Somehow he’s not quite done enough, quickly enough in the prem. good move all round

Good news. More deadwood shifted.

Shame it didn't work out but this is best for both the player and the club.

The number of ruined careers months after joining Forest is incredible.

Good luck to LOB, hope he does well and finds a proper move in summer.

Good luck to him. Didn't work out but it wasn't for the want of trying.

Deserves a chance to rebuild his career elsewhere.
