Jonjo Shelvey

GAFF LAD. "Open your knees and feel the breeze"
I watched this last week as I'm immobile after a small op. After rummaging through the various subscriptions that we stupidly pay for I came across it. Wanted to watch it as a kid but didn't happen so was quite pleased with myself. Cracking film too!
Aye... one of my favourite films of all time, great sound track too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery,

New season always means to me, I'm willing to wipe the slate clean, good and bad with players and start afresh. It's not about what you've done, it's about what you can do and do for the club.

Except Jonjo Shelvey, he can f*** off. We give him the opportunity to play regular football again and he has such a shite attitude, at a time when we needed players to stand up and be counted. I can accept a player that isn't quite good enough but I f***ing loathe ones that down tools and don't give a shit.

The best thing he's ever done at the club was getting sent off, playing for Newcastle. Say what you want for Henri Lansbury but he's a hero in my eyes for that.

Has he been seen at training or is he in exile still / told not to bother and to find a new club

Was on the pitch at the end of the season so didn’t know if the door was ajar for a return?

We don’t have an obligation to train him with the first team. Plenty of clubs have reduced players to training alone or with the kids
We probably do.

He will have an expectation to get a full preseason under his belt, especially if hes expected to move on.

He won't get that that with the kids or alone.

Worrying signs if we've decided to give him another go. The man is a liability.

His expectation is very different to a contractual obligation. In the same way we told him not to bother at the back end of last season.

Regardless it appears he is so my only hope is he is training to get him fit enough to move on or if not he knuckles down double time to prove his worth

We've got players like Hammond, Taylor, Mighten in the videos. The majority of the squads train together in Preseason as the start is just fitness and a little bit on kicking the ball about.

Noone will take Shelvey off us if he hasn't had a full Preseason and is match fit.

Surely someone like Sheff United will take him off our hands on loan at least.

He’s probably not fancy enough for our friends in Saudi Arabia to want him unfortunately.

Why in God’s name didn’t we just loan him until the end of the season?

He’ll be with us for years
Probably because Newcastle didn't want to loan him out I'm assuming. Get why we bought him and wood both we were short on numbers and thought we were getting prem ready players that would strengthen the team. Wood last game with us was the one before awoniyi came back, makes me think he was playing through an injury may still come good here.

Because Shelvey pushed for the move to make it happen. I doubt he’d have been so keen without the lucrative three year contract we waved at him.

Only good news from D Taylor’s article was that he joined us on a free. I’d seen some horrifying reports of a fee up to 6m being paid.

Now f*** him off.

Who is going to take him....seriously. 2 and half years left on a good contract here aged 30. He aint getting a better deal and we wont be getting anything for him.......At least Wood offers something......

He will still rinse us for £15M in wages. The best we can hope for is to get him out on loan presuming he actually wants to play.
