Neco Shay Williams

Hes a wing back signed for a different system, its just bizarre to me that we have to pick out one player when as a team we lost by 4 goals and never looked like scoring. In this system he's the 2nd choice right back for a reason but he does have the ingredients to make a successful player.

MGW lost possession quite a few times by trying some fancy stuff that gifted possession to them blunting our attack and putting us on the back foot as well as taking poor set peices. Lodi to me looked a bit panicked when getting the ball, Felipe lost Ings on more than one occasion, Freuler didn't do much of any note and I could go on about the others due to the fact that we lost so heavily, in a 15 minute period we played like we were brainless and lacking heart. For me the only player who was good for us was the guy that we for some reason decided to take off which resulted in us collapsing like a house of cards.

I only mention all of that because every game every player makes at least one mistake, we paid the same as we did for Danilo because he has potential to develop but he's not the finished article yet and he won't get to be if everyone looks for reasons to tell him how shit he is any time we lose.

As a team we were crap, Neco was part of that but not the only one.

I don’t think anyone is, but he just seems so error prone, not sue how much cooper can control that short of just not playing him

Lodi on the right and Colback on the left better perhaps??
Lodi on the right? f***ing hell thats some shout. Hes the most left footed player ive seen at Forest since Psycho.

I prefer my full backs to be on the correct side. So a left footed LB and a right footed RB.

However it is strange that I don't necessarily mind a right footed left back (unless it is Wes Morgan) but the thought of a left footed right back feels totally odd.

Azpilicueta being a great example

I don't care who plays RB as long as it's not Williams. He was just about getting away with it in the first half but you sent this at half time to a mate.

Inverted wingers can be, theres litterally zero benefit of using an inverted full back though.
Pep Guardiola doesn't like this post.

Colback is genuinely a better option than he is his supposed natural position ATM. He's been shocking every game and also offers nothing offensively to cover up his many defensive errors.

Cancelo until he left.
And Bernardo Silva more recently.

But no, Lodi shouldn't be playing RB for us. Hopefully Aurier back in time for next week.

The difference with Neco is that he's poor every game. There are literally 2 or 3 games all season when he's played well.
I must have missed those then because I can't really recall any of them...

Had a tough afternoon but I thought Lodi was considerably worse. Had no interest in engaging with Bowen & his half-hearted effort defending the first goal was pathetic. At least Neco tried to get tight & be aggressive.

Neco didn't do too badly I thought. But maybe I need to go and watch the game again.

He's a wing-back and that's why he plays so well for Wales, who set up in a system he prefers.

He is not quick or strong enough to play fullback at this level

Aurier is a huge loss, he would have just barged Benrahma out the way today, Neco lost countless physical battles with him.

Unfortunately there is no easy solutions so we will just have to back him until Aurier is back.
