If we can't get Keinan Davis back I'd be looking at Lucas Joao.

Made a huge impact at Reading since returning from injury. Only has a year left on his contact and Reading are in the shit financially, so may be available for a reasonable price.

I would be looking at Swift as well.

He's on our radar already, pretty sure we'll go in for him in summer as a Zinckernagel replacement.

Right,

First post in this thread I suggested the proposed starting template for summer was:

Samba
Worrall Cook McKenna
Laryea Yates Colback Panzo
Lolley Mighten
Surridge

I now think the starting template is:

Samba
Worrall Cook McKenna
Laryea Yates Ojeda/Fornah Colback
Lolley
Surridge Grabban

CBs are fine with Panzo and Mbe Soh, and maybe someone from the U23s ready to step up, or failing that simply drop to a back four if we get an injury.

Pretty much every other position needs additional bodies in. Wing backs and #10 are the ones crying out for additional quality, and in centre midfield and up front we'll want depth.

#10 position there's plenty of options: Swift, Wallace, Powell (Nick) are all available. Maybe even Morgan Gibbs-White if he's available for a good price.
Central midfield I'd like to see us go for Joe Rothwell. There's also Josh Laurent who we were linked with earlier in the season also and our old friend Ben Osborn both available too.
Wing backs: James Bree and Lee Buchanan probably the only worthwhile ones chasing.
Up front: If we want pace/trickery to flank Davis/Surridge and replace Johnson then maybe David Brooks oould be tempted? Josh Bowler next option.

So, without spending a single penny on transfer fees, the template could change to:

Samba
Worrall Cook McKenna
Laryea Yates Rothwell Buchanan
Wallace Swift
Davis

Which if we're still in this league next year, would be quite the side.

And that's just looking at Championship out of contract players with a budget of next to £0.

Maxi-one obvious flaw in that list and that is that Davis is a Villa player and valued at 5-10M. Thats a few pennies....

That was meant to say Surridge. :)

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
No doubt there’ll be players come in from overseas that no one will have heard of before.

He joined them 2 seasons ago

He was impressive against us last year as well, definitely one to keep an eye on

It's worth signing him just so we can call his thread by his full name: "Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo"

That name is almost as long as ze list! Sign him up.

Championship + Twine potential shopping list for Forest could be to good to resist if we go up.

Probably missed some players but it feels like such an opportunity to recruit from these options first before we spread our wings too much into Europe and the Americas.

RCB: Paddy McNair (Boro), Rob Dickie (QPR), Daniel Ballard (Millwall on loan from Arsenal), Dael Fry (Boro)
LCB: Jacob Greaves (Hull), Jake Clarke-Salter (Coventry on loan from Chelsea)

RWB: Isaiah Jones (Boro), Sorba Thomas (Huddersfield)
CM: Lewis O'Brien (Huddersfield), Marcus Tavernier (Boro), Joe Rothwell (Blackburn), Gustavo Hamer (Coventry), Lewis Baker (Stoke), Alex Scott (Bristol City)
LWB: Lee Buchanan (Derby), Ryan Giles (Blackburn on loan from Wolves), Harry Toffolo (Huddersfield), Harrison Burrows (Peterborough)

AM: Jed Wallace (Millwall), Josh Bowler (Blackpool), Callum O'Hare (Coventry), Morgan Gibbs-White (Sheff Utd on loan from Wolves), John Swift (Reading), Scott Twine (MK Dons)

FWD (creative): Kean Lewis-Potter (Hull), Joel Piroe (Swansea), Karlan Grant (West Brom)
FWD (physical): Lucas Joao (Reading) , Antoine Semenyo (Bristol City), Elijah Adebayo (Luton), Viktor Gyokeres (Coventry)

1. We probably won't need a left-sided defender with McKenna and Panzo but there is 2 potential openings for competition to Worrall and Cook
2. Went for dynamic midfielders. Want the ball to feet but work hard and try to get forward.

It feels almost bad form to be discussing potential transfer targets when Derby, next door neighbours, are in such disarray.

Almost! But not really.

Karlan Grant is a bag of shit in my humble opinion, but the rest are very capable footballers!

I have a mate who is a baggie and he says Grant is over rated and troublesome, not a Cooper signing

He wouldn't be my number 1 but he has always been a threat whenever I've seen him. In a poor season he has 15 goals and 5 assists. But did have a poor Prem season 20/21

Piroe and Lewis-Potter. But I imagine there will be competition for both.

If we had to spend big on Spence I can't see us spending 20m on another player which is probably what Hull will want or certainly between 15-20

I would be careful about joining Leeds. There are a lot of 18/19/20 year-olds they've bought and there is a bottleneck starting for those aged players.

Sunday Mirror claims Leeds are considering £10m offer to Bristol City for teenage midfielder Alex Scott.
Star, 18, operates as a No 10 or a wing-back and has four goals, two assists (and 10 yellow cards!) this season.

Bristol Live saying we are keeping tabs on FGR RWB, Kane Wilson, who has got 14 assists this season as they've got promoted to L1.

24 years-old.
Out of contract.
Bristol City also interested.
Came through WBA's academy.

Still relatively young, impressive attacking stats for a wing back, low risk financially with potentially high reward. Certainly ticks the boxes of what our recruitment looks for nowadays.

Does seem the type to go for if we aren't promoted and we lose Spence. So then Laryea and Wilson compete for the spot.

Richardson not even getting a look in?

Richardson not even getting a look in?

Sorry Maxi, I missed this.

I'm honestly stuck in-between on what his future is.

He has so many of the raw tools required for the position but I'm not sure just sending him out on loan so young helped his progression. I think some players particularly at 18/19/20 with hopes of playing top level football need an elite coaching environment + being valued in their development whereas often it is tough to be looked on as a young loan player sometimes.

I've seen him do a lot of good things and frustrating things at County. I think we just wanted him to get games under a good coach who we seem to have a good relationship with so I'm sure people at Forest will know exactly where Richardson stands.

Even though Fin Back isn't a Djed Spence he can do what Colback is doing and more going forward. He has been fantastic for the U23s this season. He was with the first team recently and travelled up to Blackpool and prepared for the Coventry game with them so he clearly is rated.

14 assists from wing back is crazy.

When you consider Spence has got 5 this year.

He must be some crosser of the ball or he basically plays as a winger, which would probably suit us.
