When does the Forest-Olympiakos transfer corridor reopen?
Isn't that currently blocked by a Greek cargo ship?
When does the Forest-Olympiakos transfer corridor reopen?
Scored twice for Montserrat in their 2-2 draw with Antigua on the opening night of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.
So Lyle Taylor has scored 3 in 2 games for Montserrat, and Alex Mighten scored a superb goal for England u-19s who beat Arsenal u-23s 6-1.
Hard to see why Taylor doesn't get a few starts.
He was handful at Charlton in the two games against Forest which probably got him the move. He was also prolific for the first month last season when Charlton were riding high after promotion.
His return from the rest of the games he played for Charlton last season was adequate, there are certainly worse, but it doesn't scream top Championship striker. And his half season at Charlton in 2019/20 was all we had to go on when assessing him as a Championship goalscorer. His career had been on the up and up from non-league, and I think it's possible he peaked by reaching the second tier then, along with the his teammates, punching above his weight for a month.
He was dropped after eight consecutive starts during which Forest scored one goal, through a defender, with him on the pitch. As he hasn't started with him since, I'm guessing Hughton decided he had seen enough. I think I'd sooner a manager who knows his mind and trusts his judgement.
I agree with your last paragraph but the rest is a bit tenuous. I just feel sad that in a season when we literally can't hit a cows arse with the proverbial banjo he's been basically frozen out. From what I've seen he's got a bit of everything, pace, pretty good arial ability and he certainly knows where the goal is when the chances fall his way (which haven't been all that often). I wouldn't mind if we had someone in there up front on a hot streak keeping him out on merit, but what, pray does "merit" look like in this side?.I also think that he was one of our saleable assets if handled right even if we didn't want to keep him and on that basis alone I'd have kept him on the pitch a bit more.
Having said that Hughton is the professional, he knows and sees far more than keyboard warriors like us and like all managers he'll stand or fall on decisions like this.
Assuming the conspiracy theorists (that's me) are wrong in the assertion that Lyle Taylor and Chris Hughton have fallen out big time, then one has to conclude that Chris Hughton isn't impressed by his current top scoring striker.
And as Hughton is the man in charge and, if one believes the sincerity of Randall's words, he looks likely to be given time, then one can only conclude Taylor simply doesn't have a future at Forest.
I think this is a real pity, as Talor comes across as an intelligent and articulate footballer, with bags of energy and a willingnerss to run himself after every lost cause hit and hope pass from defence and midfield.
Did I mention he is also our top scorer, despite not being a CH favourite?
Isn't 'Own Goal' our top scorer?
That O Goal may score once in a while , but he contributes very little anywhere else on the pitch.

Agree & disagree with this, certainly don't see the pace angle with Taylor, don't see him winning much aerially & it certainly feels like he's fluffed as many lines as Grabban in front of goal.
That said, Grabbans getting the lions share of the game time currently & his form is woeful. Taylor brings more off the ball, so you'd expect him to get a start.
Ultimately Francis has probably hit the nail on the head, the word currently is Grabban stays & Taylor goes, thats more than likely a financial decision & we're trying to play Grabban into some sort of form for next season.
I mean Taylor is 31 so it's not like he's a young player.

Young-er. That’s different from young. Hopefully you are just being silly not stupid!.
And you are probably right with the inference that if he were 25 he might get a chance but at 31 he’s probably seen as a cast off by CH. And I don’t mind that. At the end of the day it’s a call we all expect the manager to make. I just worry where the replacement 20+ a season striker is coming from to replace him and how much he’s going to cost....
