Where's me hammer?
He is a good player, no argument there but it's not the way to run long term. I don't know the figures involved but I would bet the cost of a loan fee and wages for a player who cost his current club £12 million a few months ago are more than Wigan are spending on Bogle. If he transitions to this level they will make a healthy profit.

Find the best young central midfielder in league 1 and spend the money where it can make an immediate difference and a potential future profit.
Hes here to keep us in the division..... even if he scores or creates say 3 goals... they could be the difference between staying up or going down..... if someone said give me 750k to stay up, youd take it.

RM is that 750k imo.

Tshibola Teixera look good loans legs/creativity what we needed in c.m.

preferred us using money on beating wigan to Bogle signing.
so glad any donkey chambers deal brokedown.

I can understand some of the sceptical responses to the signing of Ross McCormack, especially given the negative publicity he's recently attracted, however, he's now been given an opportunity to go some way to addressing those issues by delivering on the pitch, where the threat he can pose with the football is undoubted.

For me though, a real statement of intent from yesterday is the permanent signing of Ariyibi and Clough, both young and (hopefully) hungry, and both with much needed attributes. That touch of guile and trickery in the case of Clough, and genuine pace from Ariyibi.

Those two have genuinely transformed our attacking options from the middle of the park.

Without wanting to be pedantic can I just mention that we have signed McCormack until the end of the season, not for 6 months as some of you have been posting.

The end of the season is 3 months away, a huge difference to the 6 months that too many of you have been using as a way to justify sticking the boot in before he's even kicked a ball.

Beat me to it. It's more like £400k if it's £30k a week and if that's the price to stay up it's cheap.

Would love us to sign Jokic next week on a free transfer too. He's a free agent.

Would be much needed cover if Pinillos gets injured again.

So we're not going to pay him for May, then ?

I'm not going to be the one to break it to him ...

Good point. It'll cost us nearer the £375k-£400k mark for him to give us a significantly better chance of staying up.

How anyone can't approve of that totally baffles me.

...and he will probably be played out of position at Forest.
Can he play left back?

At Villa he was stuck out on the wing and told to play as a winger.... they then played long ball up to a target man.... that is not RMs game

After letting Burke and Lansbury go, which adds up to 16 million as far as I'm aware, then we ought to have done at least this to try and stay up.

If McCormack finds some form and gets on well here I'd hope we'd get the option to buy him as well.

It remains to be seen whether Fawaz intends to carry on funding the club "properly" , for want of a more suitable word, next season.

We've had a fairly successful transfer window but it's about f#cking time something went our way!

My reservations about McCormack are nothing to do with his on field ability, its more the insight to Fawaz' mindset and his plan (or lack of) moving forward.

I'm just happy we've got a Mc back in the side. Doesn't feel like Forest without a Mc in the side.

I'm thinking it's the, "my club will be worth f*** all in league one so until a buyer comes along I need to make sure we avoid relegation for as little money as possible without taking too many risks", type of thinking from Fawaz and little more than that.

McCormack has a proven track record, bar his gate gate situation, and is basically an expensive name on the cheap for the rest of the season which sounds impressive as well.

As long as he wants to put the effort in I can't fault it.

Think I'm most impressed with the Zac Clough signing though which seems a great bit of business and we ought to really be shopping around for these type of deals that are in the longer term interests of the club bar just this season.

It's a shame we never tried to get Bogle though as he looked like goals galore for a great price.

We ought to be kicking ourselves about that one big time!
