I have. Good investments for me. Massive step towards keeping us up, and that's a bigger priority than the wage bill for 6 months.

It's short termism and is not the way well run clubs operate. When exactly have Vellios failed to show motivation and what about McCormack past makes you think that he will be more motivated than Vellios. That is a silly argument.

This is a shiny new thing designed to pacify fans and take the heat off Fawaz.

Almost nobody would have looked at our squad yesterday morning and said it was crying out for 2 strikers. It is horribly imbalanced and that means waste. Waste means players like Burke have to be sold.

Vellios has scored 6 goals from 12 starts. Project that over the season and you have a 20 goal plus striker worth £10+ million pound, rather than an unhappy one on the bench that will likely leave for a loss in the summer instead.

The way to run a sustainable club is to make the most of your existing assets. When people like Britt and Vellios score enough goals that a club come in with a big offer you sell them and the next generation (Walker, Brereton, Clough) fill that gap. Then you look for the next promising player with some of the money.

That is sustainable. Put someone like McCorkmack in the team and not only does it cost a lot for a little, short term improvement, it undermines current players and blocks them from the 1st team which decreases the value of our own playing assets.

Just to illustrate the point the championship stats for the players involved for this season are

1, Assombalonga - 107 minutes per goal
2, Vellios - 204 minutes per goal
3, Bendtner - 362 minutes per goal
4, McCormack - 421 minutes per goal

So not only is he expensive and short term, he is considerably less prolific than all 3 of our current strikers who are already not getting enough game time. That is in a team which is higher up the league than us. Not to mention his current manager says he is unfit to play.

This money would have been better off in the bank were it would have allowed us to pay bills on time and better resist offers for our young players.

At 30k/wk McCormack will cost us £750k for 6 months. That's liveable, especially to get clear of relegation.

On the contrary, real short termism would be not to sign him, go down, and then face having to scrape around for poorer owners.

Relegation situations force gambes like this, which is why you don't invite such situations on yourself by sacking top half managers.

Plus, when all said and done, I don't really care. I'm actually sick to the back teeth of fans who give a toss about the wage bill. You know who's wage bill I give a shit about? Mine. You know who I want to see get value for money? Me.

Absolutely sick of hearing and reading fans harp on about wages etc, just give me some good football to enjoy watching with the lads.

He is a good player, no argument there but it's not the way to run long term. I don't know the figures involved but I would bet the cost of a loan fee and wages for a player who cost his current club £12 million a few months ago are more than Wigan are spending on Bogle. If he transitions to this level they will make a healthy profit.

Find the best young central midfielder in league 1 and spend the money where it can make an immediate difference and a potential future profit.

Bogle or McCormack, right now McCormack but Bogle would be the better long term, obvs. Think FAH is thinking GB can mount a play off charge

Anyone had a thought who was on the phone sorting these great signings out & getting them over the line ? Brazil & Lester would have had their handfuls with preparation for the Rotherham game, & we are not overflowing with backroom staff, so who takes the credit ?

People want a self sufficient club but lose their minds when we sell players for good money, people want Fawaz out and structure but are happy with a couple of decent signings. Funny old game, we are either after the long term future of the club or as fickle as Fawaz thinks. :

equally, I can only imagine what it would have been like on here if we hadn't made these signings!

Really chuffed with all these signings plus the three points. We get to keep the three points so that's all good. The signings might turn out to be duff and a waste of money, but right now they look really good.

The few times I've seen Clough I've been impressed. Not afraid to use his tricks, good eye for goal and dead ball specialist.

McCormack the same, plus he has experience on his side. If the interim managers can get into his head, he will be a good addition. Plus, even if he's not allowed to play against Villa, he won't be averse to telling a few tactical secrets owing to the feud between him and Steve.

Jack Lester must know all about the tricky winger whose name I will never learn to spell. Even if he wasn't there at the same time, I'm sure Jack will have asked his contacts at the Proact.

Now Fawaz needs to pay the bills (which should happen if the new finance lady does her job), appoint experienced administrators and stay well away from the CG, letting the proper football people do their jobs.

Dare to dream.
