Welcome to the relegation battle - Official Thread

One win in SEVEN equates to relegation! (Again) :bristolfan:

To read the limp posts on this forum, anybody would think we are on the verge of a UEFA place.

Where do you start with this clusterf*ck of a club!?!?

Cloughies passing anniversary past with a whimper. Shame on you Forest.

The lads at the back of A - Block sang "Andyy Colle, Annddy Annddy Anndy Cole" with 10 mins to go today.

If I had a f*cking machine gun! :suicide:

Time to get the smelly wet mackerel out again and slap a few slappers.

Who shall we blame?

The club, Clownerwood, Doughty, Wes "The Error" Morgan or the memory of Brian?

Can anybody seriously stomach going back to the third flight and yeovil?

Because believe me boys and girls and Antolli, that where we are heading with a do not pass go or collect 200 ticket.

Failure to score more than one goal in all but one league game should have the alarm bells ringing.

18k turned up today to witness a totally inept performance by what is essentially a third flight team.

Only by default did we escape the misery of third tier dross. Leeds United WERE a better team.

Doughty is fisting everybody all over again and some fans seem to enjoy it.

Calderwood is a total muppet who has the tactical awareness of a slug sat in a bath of sea salt.

Tyson should have been sold to Bristol City. They are a bigger club and may have enabled him to finally fullfill his potential.

Andrew fuc*king Cole is nothing more that a shirt seller who has come to collect his pension. His legs dont work and his whole body language says "Couldnt give a flying fu*k"

Wes Morgan is a f*cking liability and should be shot before he inflicts any more none league defending upon the club.

Bring back Jack Lester!

World Cup Stadium!!! Just fuc* off Nigel!!

The club died along with cloughie, we just never realised did we.

Life after Brian can never be the same, Forest can never be the same. The young muppets who attend the City Ground do not deserve the right to be associated with the great man and all he stood for.

For fu*k sake forest fans, stop rimming each other and wake up to the pending disaster that approaches!

Whilst our position in the table is somewhat ominous at the moment I saw enough today to give me confidence that we'll start climbing up the table before too long.

We'll finish mid table somewhere I reckon.

Whilst listening to your opinion, I see it from the other angle....

Another home game without a win or goal and falling attendance.

Once a gap appears from the basement to fourth place its curtains.

Best crack on with building that 50k stadium Nigel. :violin:

Does anybody have the faintest idea of what another spell in the third flight will do to the club?

I honestly despair at the lame attitude of notts forest fans.

There appears to be a core of fans who do not know how to have an opinion.

They just sit there and applaud failure. Its pathetic, but then again it goes hand in hand with the running of the club.

Until they are sat in a stadium with 10k they will not be happy.

We were always going to be in a relegation battle realisticly. We won't go down though.

Kilburn I am impressed, you have managed to put across a point without comparing Forest to Derby. Makes a pleasent change. :)

I don't understand this at all, it can only be described as plain pessimism in the face of a good performance, providing a solid ground for improvement.

How fans can expect it all to come good in the first few games of the season when we've been away so long is just embarrassing.. ::)

And also how some fans couldn't even see that we played well is just stupid, go and support Chelsea you perrenial fools.

You were doing so well up until then.
Finally, I made 10k.  At least until the mods delete some other thread which I posted 22 times in.
Have you got the decorators in again Dan?
Some other quote to go into my signature.
I'd like to thank my parents etc.

I think it is taking us time to adjust to being back at the level where we probably belong.  However,I also believe that we will stay at this level.  We have had a tough start to the season, but have come through it reasonably well.  The one disappointment was the Burnley game -as ever the one game I attended.

I am missing wearing lacey womens underwear.

We will miss Earnie, if his injury is a lasting one, but I am sure we will make up the points to hide safely in mid-table by Christmas.

Sorry Kilburn, I fell asleep whilst awaiting this thread. My response has been muted up until now, however, I can truly say that I am appalled by your lack of regard for this once great football club. We have never taken success for granted and have struggled to maintain our worthy traditions.

The chairman has not failed to express his AMBITION for the club by bringing in new players, that is a FACT. Your lack of capitalisation in the rest of this thread indicates your lack of AMBITION.

At least we are no longer playing in the THIRD TIER OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HISTORY. Following the relegation of FC Happy Feet to Greek Division 2, we are also no longer the only Euopean cup winning side to be RELEGATED TO THE THIRD TIER of their National league.

Poor attendances are a result of the credit crunch. I see Blackburn in the Premiership only got 19k today.

While I disagree with the original post mainly due to the manner it was put, I can see the point.  We are a struggling side just now, with a struggling season to come, anyone thinking we are going to be a comfortable Mid-Table team this season is disillusioned, we are going to be in for a right battle to stay in this league.

This I believe is due to the same old pattern repeating itself, while Forest continue to make chances we have a chance of staying up but the more we have chances and not take them the more the confidence drains from the players and management. I guarantee if this was to continue it will only be a matter of time before chances dry up and confidence and morale is at an all time low, (we are paying the price for a small squad and we are in certain danger of this becoming a reality), we will start to panic and we'll lose any kind of continuity or balance to our side and this is my main worry because if that happens we will get relegated.

We lack a real cutting edge at present someone who can a) Play a killer pass b) someone who can cross and c) someone who can get on the end of anything apart from Earnie.

So often yesterday we lacked the killer ball, the pass that would open them up, a pass or cross that would have made their keeper work, it's like the Brian Clough relegation season all over again, we play well but we can't score, but far to vulnerable at the back to not concede well why?
Firstly in my opinion the defence needed strengthening in the Summer, with Chambers not a natural right back but asked to play there is not the answer as he is far too slow and not a right back, he will struggle against anyone who is nippy and skillful and anyone who has done their homework on Forest should know this is a real weak link in forest defence.

Chambers got away with this so many times last season (like the whole defence did to a degree) where strikers or wingers were not as good as they are at this level, at this level they are experienced at the art of taking the man on and using the ball to do the work and doing it at a quicker pace where I must point out we are vulnerable.

Secondly, Julian Bennet where there is no questioning his comittment to the cause, He is not a footballer, He too often loses his head and plays hospital balls to team mates which so often gets Him or his team-mates caught out, although he had a good game yesterday I don't think this is his level.

Thirdly, Morgan and Wilson we could get away with them at this level but so often their decision making is poor and needs to be addressed also.

The Bottom line is Cohen, Earnshaw, McGugan and Cole will have to play a pivitol role this season if we are to stay in this league, Cole needs to partner Earnie or Tyson up front, and with Garner coming back I expect or hope that he will be a shinning light for us, although I am not totally convinced that he will be. In regards to Cole I think he will start scoring, you don't become a bad player over night he will have a part to play and I believe with the right partner with the legs to do most of his running he will get space and score goals, play anyone else and it's too similar forward players (plus he is ok in the air where no other striker we have is).

We must stregthen the defence and the final ball/pass needs to be better and then we every chance of staying in this league, we got away with it in League 1 and we were bound too, the standard was crap compared to these nippy, quick wingers and strikers who know how to counter at pace which is why I am surprised it wasn't looked at in the pre-season.

Anyway rant over, lets hope for better against Plymouth although I wouldn't bet on it as we have a bad record against them, but lets hope anyway.

For what it's worth I don't think we'll get relegated but this will only be because we will do something in the January transfer window that will save us, so we'll just avoid it I reckon.
