I think you are confusing the home evening match against them in our second season with an away game in the first season as Carlisle were winning League Two the first season we were in League One.

On Saturday it'll be 9 weeks until the PL starts. Will that give us enough time to prepare? Transfer window is open from 10th June until 11pm on 1st September.

I reckon we are going to get the first match of the season at home on a Friday night before everyone else Vs. someone "significant" ie one of the top 4 or maybe "local rivals" Leicester. Similar to Brentford vs Arsenal last season.

We are going to be the plucky underdogs and in the same way BBC will always pick the possible giant killing fixture in the FA Cup to show on a Sunday afternoon, Sky only care about views and subscriptions and will see this as a chance for the neutral to watch a team they hate get battered by the new boys.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if it was Arsenal under the City Ground lights on the Friday night.

When does the season actual start for us Premier League teams?

I’ll be away on holiday too but back on 13th August. I usually miss the first game if the season so hoping it’ll be different.

Fixtures are out on 16th June. :)

Season starts a week earlier because of the WC so it's on the 6th and 7th August.

The home evening game against Carlisle was our third season in League 1-our promotion season of 2007/8.
You are correct in saying that Carlisle gained promotion in our first season in League 1.
We played Carlisle 4 times over 2 seasons in League 1-we only scored in one of them(a 2-0 win at Brunton Park
which sparked a late run to promotion).

Every time I read BBC Sport now, I feel strange inside.

We will be playing football against World class players and World class teams. Forest vs World Class.

I never really thought about how we are really going to need to forget about rivalries in the Champ, because there are much bigger fish in our new pond.

Kind of scary tbh.

Still haven't taken it fully in mate don't worry.

I think it'll hit home when the fixture list comes out and I'm looking through it and can't see Preston or Derby. Nothing against either team but both fixtures dull as dishwater and played too frequently in the last two decades.

Part of PL registration (anyone who plays FPL) you're forced to choose who you support, but it only gives PL options and "another club". Forest will no longer be the non-descript overlooked "another club".

It's little things like that.

Hello all, first post on here and thought it should be in this thread. I'm still trying to find out how to navigate the site and have to use tap talk to post rather than the forum itself. I'm old enough to have watched Forest win in Europe so not great with techie things.

Like others on here, still adjusting to not having to navigate to Championship need to see how Forest are getting on.
