It was a nothing game that we went out in to attack FFS, same with Man United

Milenkovic spent about 10 minutes playing as a striker
I wish people would not answer my posts like I’m having a go. It was a poor performance in a nothing game. It is what it is 🤷‍♂️ It dosent mean we didn’t play poorly.

Debatable, considering I didn’t think we did at all. We were just wide open (so we’re Man United), that was the nature of the game not due to poor performance.

We should never let it be that open that’s the point though. United at home with pace and fernandes it was a silly tactic.

It is incredibly how long you spent telling everyone we shouldn’t sit back, approximately about 4 years - we just go for it in an end of season game we are behind in & now it’s a silly tactic. FFS Just enjoy football for once in your life.

Not sure why so many have a downer on yesterday‘s performance?

On another day without a bent Referee, we would all be extremely happy with a well-earned point - which Forest deserved.

I'm sure, at times, people forget this is a very hard League with many quality teams who are here by right, even though we denigrate their position by the taunt 'Top 6', and they are trying as hard as we are to win the game. To hold our own with many of these top teams, even in our harum scarum season, is noteworthy and even today (edit: sorry, yesterday) we were able to control the ball for large portions of the game, despite the persistence of commentators and the media concentrating almost exclusively on Casimero leaving and ratty equalling some sort of record which has existed since the dawn of time (or 20 years in Optaland).

I dont get this pushback, I never said we should never sitback but we have to be clever with it. Also I dont get why people are getting irate with me. Objectivley yesterday was a poor perfomance, if we play that game 99 more times we lose it 95% of the time. We were very lucky United didnt have their shooting boots as it could have been more.

I am not angry, it was a dead rubber and Vitor went feck it but I can let people analyse that game as anything other than a poor perfomance. Surely conceding 29 shouts and 4.26 xg cant be seen as a good performance. Im not arsed the players are mentally holiday but I am being objective.

I was wondering when Casemiro became good in this league all of a sudden? I thought he was awful for that lot for the majority of his time there, to almost joke levels? Was like some God leaving yesterday who had delivered them countless trophies.

We scored 25 goals in 26 games before Vitor came in. Since Vitor came in we've scored 22 goals in 11 games.
Moved from 19th to 12th in Goals Scored.
Seems a good argument for keeping him.

We passed and moved extremely well, better than in almost any other prem game this season actually. Cut United open very effectively at times and kept the ball away from them for long periods. Vitor deliberately did that to see if he can push these players into playing that style at least some of the time, and obviously to match up against a good team. Some of the passing through lines was a joy to watch. That's good. It shows ambition and there was a lot of quality on display. It also should build confidence in a number of players. That was a good decision by the coach and the players responded well.

We were too open to the counter and there were large gaps between the midfield and defence after committing maybe one too many forward and playing a poor pass. The contrast between how efficiently their attacks resulted in good chances versus how we consistently played poor final passes or turned the ball over, was pretty jarring. That's bad and nobody's glossing over it..

It's because of his fame and reputation from his previous club, and tourist fans who don't understand football, are all over that shit, and the media will lean into it because it gets them revenue

Barring the handball it was a very enjoyable match.

Had us on almost 2ppg average since the Brighton game. Slightly better form than Bournemouth, with only 1 defeat away against Utd in that run. He really brought a lot of optimism and cleared the dark clouds very quickly. Along with a lot of players, especially MGW, he deserves so much praise for the way we ended the season. Feeling like we can get a really good season with him next year, if we can get the recruitment right.

Thank you to Vitor. Without him we'd be Championship bound. West Ham have went down on 39 points which is incredible in comparison to recent seasons. Vitor not only had to come in and lift the players, but he had to have them performing like a top 6 team for the remainder to save our season and he's managed to pull it off - as well as achieving a very respectable Europa Semi Final finish.

Excited, hopeful (if a little cautious) that with a sensible transfer window (thats why i'm cautious) he can have us marching up the table next season. I've no idea why i have this feeling but Vitor just gives me the impression that he's got a cup win in him with us.

He seemed to indicate he looking forward to pre-season after saying that with a game every three days as soon as he came in, he had little time to sort tactics etc.

So, with good recruitment and some time to sort them all out, I'm looking forward to next season. Just read that back and I'm not suggesting we have a lot of recruits to sort, but the whole squad needs a reset and to finally get into all Vitor's ideas.
