Although most of our current players aren’t going to the World Cup so I’m not sure it’s going to be that market we’re shopping in exclusively.

Forest really seem to need to move away from managerial churn.
There will like as not be quite a lot of player churn.
We don’t want stagnation as that leads to a club going nowhere but downwards.
There is a change mode in world systems called “Dynamic Equilibrium”.
I think that’s what we need at Forest.
Exactly. In blackjack parlance we have a 17 hand.
Stick every time.

Vitor has done great so far however I don't see the benefit of offering him a new contract just yet.

His current deal runs until next summer. Surely it's a review in January type of thing.

If it has been all agreed he is our manager for next season then I am delighted - I have a dream that Forest will have a stable season - look I know it is not going to happen, but it is a nice dream

If the players all like him as much as we're led to believe maybe it's as much about retaining assets as it is continuity.

I actually quite like Vitor and am happy for him to continue, I think he's got more in his locker tactically than we were led to believe by other club supporters.

As Maxi suggested the only name I would have been tempted to twist for was Iraola. If that's not viable then Vitor all day long for me. I do think Iraola is great, however who knows how he would fit into Forest, the way we're ran isn't for everyone!

iraola is being linked with clubs like Leverkusen so we probably don’t have much of a chance anyway.

Yeh I don't think it really changes much other than our short term commitment, which is better than nothing. At least we know who will be starting the season in charge and we have all summer to plan around it. The reality is though, all it takes is a poor run of form and we all know the big man won't hesitate to make changes
That applies equally whether we stick with Pereira or replace him this summer.

Forest were absolute dogshit under the clown show of Ange and then Dyche; Vitor came in, steadied the ship, got them playing entertaining, attractive, attacking football and look how the results have gone.

The players are clearly responding and results have reflected that.

Good subs, consistently. Today was an experiment as much as anything, lessons to be learned good and bad. Hopefully that's what this was. Decent performance otherwise, I like how we were set up to play through Man U, but didn't like how easy it was for them to counter. Pretty sure he's already working on that

Difference between Vitor & other managers we have had is we play with a real intent & authority under VP. It doesn't seem to matter who we play, we approach the game like we are the better team. He doesn't seem to play with any caution, he is just a pure risk taker. Can't wait to see what he can do for us next season, priority should be keeping as many players as possible, not signing new ones.

Exactly this

What VP has shown quite clearly is that we have the players for a top half finish and bar a clear-as-day handball not being given today we'd have gone nine unbeaten in the league

We 100% need a striker, mind

Our performance to me means we can’t say barring a handball we go 9 unbeaten. We were very poor today. Yes I agree it gives us a better chance if it was given but on balance I reckon we still lose.

VP has got the most out Taiwo, Jesus and MGW. That’s a credit to him. Without Anderson next season it will be interesting to see how we get on. I think we need far more pace at centre half. I don’t think Morato and Milenkovic are good enough in our style. Harvey Barnes’s goal last week show that. We need more pace at centre half.

Blimey Emmo, I know you're hard to please but 'very poor', really? We were too open certainly and didn't cover ourselves in glory defensively but we looked a constant threat going forward. If MGW's goal was an equaliser I think there was only one winner from that point on, sadly, they'd been handed (pun intended) a total joke of a goal. I thought we were excellent in an attacking sense but needed to be better defensively. If that's 'very poor' though, I don't know what kind of bar is needed to give them some praise.

If we play like that away from home against top 10 sides we’ll lose everytime. Thats all. United away is hard so I’m not angry but that dosen’t mean we played well. We were lucky not to lose by more.

But we haven’t, hence the unbeaten run, so not sure why that has become a baseline?

It’s similar to saying if we play every away game like Sunderland then we could challenge for the league

I agree and before I haven’t said we played poorly but today was an off day and we played poorly. I agree with your point. All I was saying was today was a poor performance.

It was a nothing game that we went out in to attack FFS, same with Man United

Milenkovic spent about 10 minutes playing as a striker
