Top 10 Forest strikers

If you look at Davis's stats they arent worldy I'd say however Surridge is a natural born finisher without a doubt.
It's about what Davis did though aside from goals, we seen out so many games because of his ability to make the ball stick and he helped slowed the Sheffield United momentum in that 2nd leg when he came on

It is isnt it.... You see Id say Antonio and Tyson are inside forwards but Lolley is a genuine out and out winger. Otherwise than Grant Holt, Sam Surridge or Keinan Davis.
You know what, I've just remembered another striker who scored goals who we always forget about. The man we couldn't afford to keep in case he kept scoring: Stern John!

You are not wrong and looking at his contribution per minute ratio its not the worst either. around 1 contribution every 179 minutes and Grabban is 1 every 165 so probably being overly harsh. Thats why you always need to check minutes 😂

1. Stan Collymore
2: Nigel Clough
3. Pierre van Hooijdonk
4. Ian Wright
5: Teddy Sheringham
6: Lewis Grabban
7: Kevin Campbell
8: Rob Earnshaw
9: Lee Chapman
10: Brennan Johnson

I stuck David's lad in over him cos I love him. Special mention for #4 who was one of the most intelligent strikers I've seen for us despite being way past his best - can't remember how many games he played for us, or how many he bagged, but his quality was outstanding. And oh Stan, what player you were - honestly thought he could have gone all the way to the very top, though just goes to show how big a factor mentality is in terms of those who go on to the very top. For a spell there he looked like (fat) Ronaldo.

Stanley Victor Collymore remains the finest striker I have seen playing for Forest in 46 years of watching them.

For all his faults, as a footballer I think Stan was just the best instinctive striker we've had in my time.

There have been others, but Stan the Man was supreme for us.

Stanley Victor made you edge forward on your seat or on your tiptoes whenever he got the ball, he was a special talent and scored a few rippers.

The thing was, when Stan was playing for Forest, you almost felt cheated because you’d paid for a seat, but you only ever used the edge of it…

Yup - never before or since has watching someone get the ball in their own half been so exciting... 'Go on Stan!'
Roker Park 1993 the winning goal 😍, exactly this

The thing with S. V. Collymore was, once he’d established himself in the side, as soon as the ball went towards him, you were up off your seat, because you knew there was the possibility of something special happening.

Players who can do that, who can get you on your feet because they might just do something incredible are what Football is all about.

Roy and Stan at times were mustard, those seasons under Frank Clark were a tonic after the sad last Brian season, having said that the away fans were brilliant to the end.

If Gary Bull was as quick as his cousin Steve perhaps he'd have been about as good as him.

If Gary Bannister had signed when Clough first wanted him (whenever that was, perhaps after Davenport left?) perhaps he'd have scored a few more, and his first season wouldn't have ended in relegation.

Collymore was unstoppable. I still get weird looks from non-Forest fans when I say he literally had it all and should've been our answer to Ronaldo. Pace, power, equally good on either foot, could score with his head, could dribble past 4 or 5 then bang it in from either 5 yards or 30 yards. Technically there was no weakness to his game, he was the most complete English forward I've seen that's for sure (possibly along with Rooney up until about 23/24).

It's all about mid-table...
I always thought Tony Woodcock was underrated.
He was absolute class, got kicked to f*** my proper hard defenders, shrugged it off without complaint and then 'skinned' um.

Lightning fast, skilful, scored with iz nut. Class.

Not by me Raymondo, not by me.

He is also still - to this day - lauded by fans of 1. FC Köln, because of his contribution there.

Stan.

Not bothering with the other 9, non really came close. Supporters of so many other sides say how much they enjoyed Stan at Forest, and for most of them they're talking about one season alone. The impact he had was amazing.

Agree with everyone else.

Collymore was exceptional. A one man wrecking machine. It's just incredible how someone could pick the ball up in their own half and you got excited about the potential of him marching through an entire opposition midfield and defence, brushing people off with power and pace, not to mention such quick footwork for a big man.

Didn't quite work out at Liverpool because of all the Spice boy party lifestyle they had going on there, and Collymore was also played in a different role which didn't get the best out of him. That's often why people forget about how good he was and will raise their eyebrows to us Forest fans when we talk about Stan that in his prime being the English version of Ronaldo. If he'd carried on doing what he did at Forest, he would have been.
