Only build half a stand?
Build it in another place. CG is an historical place but there are so many obstacles and the need to play the PL games under the maximum capacitance that I cannot find another viable solution tbh.

I think now might be the time to repurpose some of the BC stand executive boxes and ancillary rooms over there - could work well for owners directors guests and telly media peeps

Too late now. Committing to a new stadium today it won't be ready by 6th August of this year.
We could be back in the championship in 12 month's time.
We have to work with what we've got, but work better with it.
A lot of old replies from the club of "it's too difficult to do that" or 'we can't do that", JFDI, yes you can.
Knocking walls out, putting shutters and stairs in, yes you can.

If I didn't know the WFCG, I might agree with you.
But it's not just any stadium. It's iconic in its location.

Emotionally, it would be difficult to relocate.

Practically, there are lots of other challenges too.

Because of of post-match requirements, the medi facilities and the dressing rooms need to be close to one and other.

So the logistics, require some big changes.

Probably easier to repurpose the Trent End for this.

Dagenham and Redbridge had similar problems with their ground and main stand so put their dressing rooms etc in one of the other stands and the teams run out from behind one of the goals.

Didn't Birmingham do the same sort of thing, too?

I fully expect to see the rear of the Trent end to be repurposed for changing room facilities and possibly media next season. This would need to be done for when the Peter Taylor stand is rebuilt anyway so it's just bringing it forward.

Personally I like the vision of the players walking out with iconic Trent End behind them with a Forza display

That's actually a pretty good shout. Never made enough of the Pitch Diner (or whatever they call it now) anyway.

That would be interesting, my season ticket is (and had been for years) in the lower trent end.

For me, it just adds more excitement to the opening home game of next season. COYR!

It's been criminally underutilised to enhance revenue and it's a fantastic space with so much potential. When I was at forest it was used as the players canteen for a while.

I went to The Legends Lounge this season for the Direby game, it was packed (as you would expect) but I'd imagine this isnt the case for most home games.

Took my daughter, as I thought The Legends Lounge would be safer for her than elsewhere in the stands.

If you look at old pictures of the City Ground when it was built, there is very little housing nearby. It just wasn’t there.

It’s a bit rich, people who’ve made a decision to buy or rent property near to a football ground, complaining about congestion a couple of dozen times a year?

If you move near a football ground, you know what you’re going to get. Don’t want the hassle? f*** off somewhere else then.

It’s like the idiots who move near an airport, then suddenly complain that the Captain of a passing 747 gives them a cheery wave when they’re sat in their garden.
I must admit when I lived in Leicester very close to Filbert street, I went to quite a few of the neighborhood meetings when they were making plans to build the Wankers stadium. But that was purely personal and I didn't like the bin dipping bastards, I was just trying to put every obstacle I could think of in their way. That bastard Barry Pierpoint double sixed me in the end anyway. There was no way it was going to be stopped. Did give it my best shot though.

And there's probably Sadpie fans living close by doing pretty much the same thing to Forest now.

True. It was blatantly obvious we were wasting our time at Leicester. Either times have changed or Leicester city council were a different kettle of fish.

I know people are saying relocate but the thought of a king power or a Pride Park like stadium fills me with dread. The WFCG is iconic and a beautiful place to play football. That areas sporting heritage is famous with Trent Bridge and Meadow Lane and the Rugby Union side play down the road I believe. The council need to start to be more dynamic in there resolutions because its going to take compromises.

Yes traffic will be bad if the capacity increases so how about we think about free park and rides? Stop parking at the council house and force people to use the free park and ride. Get a tram stop to the ground and maybe even get some funding to help to build another road bridge on the trent.

There can be proactive measures by both sides here.

Free? Hahahaha. If there's a quid that can be squeezed out of you, you're going to get squeezed!

I know you say that but its only because I go to Sunderland with my dad hes a Sunderland fan and they have an excellent free park and ride system, that goes from a shopping/industrial park to the stadium. So it can be done but yeah I do think they will squeeze some money out.

Brighton also have a scheme with local trains and busses on match days. Mind you, their ground is way out so they need all the help they can get.

I think that the number of people who couldn't get wembley tickets and the thousands who won't be going to matches this season due to lack of tickets suggests a move to a new 50,000 seater state of the art stadium is not a bad idea. Everton are leaving the iconic Goodison Park, West Ham left Upton Park and with success they fill the London Stadium. OK it will be difficult but the crowd create the atmosphere and the advantages eg parking, revenue, facilities need to be put against the disadvantages of a ground built in a residential area.

Virtually all Bundesliga clubs have deals in place with their cities‘ (or village, in the case of Hoffenheim) local transport authority to offer free public transport on matchdays, which covers buses, trams and trains.

You buy a match ticket, you get a public transport day ticket included.

Like many things in life Chris it may look free but there is no such thing as something for nothing its probably inbuilt within in the ticket price but thats still a good idea and I would support forest put the price of a ticket up by a quid and cover that transport cost and stop all parking at the council house which is the main traffic issues. Also they need many more foot bridges over London road so the traffic dosent get held up by people crossing to walk to the meadows and town. Tram stop needs to be put in as well on the embankment nearer to trent bridge for fans.

My grandad lives near the Cinderhill tram stop and I drive in instead of getting the tram but if the tram went to the ground or really near Id always get the tram.

Well, yeah, there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

However, the transport association tickets are subsidised by the clubs as a way of getting people quickly and easily to and from stadia. A single day-ticket in Stuttgart currently costs €5,30 (£4.15) and that’s multiple journeys in one day, anywhere in the Stuttgart metropolitan area. If you’re further out, it’s around €3 for each additional „zone“.

Critically, there are Tram and train stops adjacent to pretty much all German grounds (or ones within easy walking distance) to promote the use of public transport and cut down on traffic congestion.

Bundesliga Match tickets are typically cheaper than their Premier League equivalents too, not withstanding the „free“ transport ticket.
